There’s no denying that you and I are part of a significant inflection point in human history. We are living in interesting times. In this video you will see a 2022 conversation in front of a small audience with historian and demographer, Neil Howe, as we discuss: the patterns of human history, a long-view perspective on the current charge of events, and, most importantly, hope for our future.
Watch more videos like this:
Neil Howe: "The 4th Turning Is Already Here" - • The World Is Changing ...
Prime Your Brain to STOP Stress, Anxiety & Fear INSTANTLY - • Prime Your Brain to ST...
These 3 Questions Will Change How You Do EVERYTHING - • These 3 Questions Will...
If you’ve been with me before, you’ve heard me say that ANTICIPATION IS POWER and PATTERN RECOGNITION is a huge key to intelligent decision making. Neil Howe’s theory is all about the patterns of the past and what they suggest we can anticipate in the future.
Howe and his co-author William Strauss wrote two extremely impactful books - Generations (published in 1991) and The Fourth Turning (published in 1997).
Strauss and Howe theory considers the 4-stage cycle that repeats every 80-100 years (approximately the length of a human life, also referred to as a saeculum).
Their books suggest four turnings of history:
1. A High
2. An Awakening
3. An Unravelling
4. (Culminating in) A Crisis
If you’re feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or uncertain about all that’s happening in the world, consider that a cycle of crisis predictably includes massive economic, cultural, political, religious, military, and broad institutional disruption. What can be helpful to remember in these times is that no storm lasts forever, and this too shall pass. Watch the video for Neil’s insights and predictions on how much longer this Fourth Turning will last.
NOTE FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT READ THE BOOKS:
Additionally, one can consider four generational archetypes (a fancy word for patterns) of people born in the same era and coming of age shaped by the same historical events. The four archetypes Strauss and Howe use to describe generational cohorts are: Prophets, Nomads, Heroes, and Artists. So, for example, Millennials fall into the Hero archetype, while Gen Xers are Nomads, and Baby Boomers are Prophets. The generation born in or after 2005 are Artists. As each archetypal generation reaches the end of its 80-year lifespan, the cycle repeats.

Agreed. He's (falsely) saying Millennials are into community and oneness. Millennials have created the most divisive, non-community society we've ever seen. They push to silence any opinion other than their own due to their lack of knowledge of freedom and independence. They grew up with a silver spoon and so expect all should be given to them without ever having to earn it themselves. They are so angry and hypocritical. That is not community. They have created the least community we have ever had.

This interview was very transcending for me. I kept getting visions and downloads and ideas that were just flowing through me. I couldn't write fast enough. I was given a lot of clarity, especially as I began to watch key points again the following day. I'm sure it is no coincidence that I found this interview at this particular time. I have been wanting to connect to Tony and Dean (Graziosi) for quite some time to share my ideas and my life purpose with them. I have a close contact with Dean that I will soon be reaching out to. I needed to wait until the time was right so as to not waste anyone's time. I am in the winter of my life but will most certainly have more springs, and summers, God-willing. If not I am totally fine with that too. Thank you, Tony and Neil, for this insightful lecture. I wish everyone reading this peace, love, unity, goodwill, God's will, and joy rising. Another vision was Tony running for President of the United States with a cabinet filled with Mark Cuban, Matthew McConaughey, the Rock, Oprah Winfrey, Tyler Perry, Marianne Williamson, Howard Shultz, Bill Gates, and others who are working together, outside of party lines, to bring peace and stability to our country, and the world. Remarkable person reading this.. It’s going to get better; all it is a season of opportunity to grow and be better than before. Challenging times are meant to strengthen us, not to break us. Success doesn’t define to what happened to us; it is how we choose to deal with our circumstances. The more you grow and develop as an incredible person as you are, the more things will change for the better. Forgive more (for you), be grateful for even the smallest things (we have it way better than someone else), choose love over ego, choose humility over ego (humility is strength), and finally, invest into new skills so that your future self will thank you. Our lives will change forever the more we grow. Be thankful for the challenges for we know something greater is coming. Love you always - Nathalie ✨❤️

Born in 1975, turned 21 in 1996. My youngest was born in 2006 and now is turning 17. She already had in her mind that she wants to make her own money at the age of 4. She'd ask for chores that she could get paid for. Now she works in a corporate fast food chain and makes more money than I ever did at her age. My oldest daughter will be 24 this year. She has her own business and does side work at venues around town. Also dresses as princesses for girls birthday parties. I am blessed to see my girls thriving even in the middle of the pandemic. I am so proud of my girls and their ability to not let anything or anyone stop them. I learned that mentality from my own father who had an entrepreneur spirit and it's his footsteps that I follow today. Thank you Tony Robbins For an informative video. 💜💕🔥👑🔥💕💜

What a sensible conversation! It's true that children are living from home and becoming socially inept, depressed and overwhelmed by life. Getting out and dancing in public places, going to the movies, having braais outdoors at one another's home every weekend, climbing mountains wearing cheap tackies, drinking water from the streams found on the mountain, etc., made for healthier minds and bodies.

agree! It's important to recognize the impact that social isolation and the lack of outdoor activities can have on our mental and physical well-being, especially for children who are still developing their social skills and sense of self. Participating in activities like dancing in public places, going to the movies, and spending time outdoors can all be wonderful ways to promote social interaction and physical activity, both of which are essential for maintaining our health and well-being. In a world where technology and virtual communication are becoming increasingly prevalent, it's important to make time for face-to-face interactions and outdoor activities that promote connection, physical activity, and mental well-being.

@@real_wakawaka - Im guessing you are a millennial - ok - I wrote this to a different whiny millennial a while ago. GEN Z culture You just don't understand Gen Z culture, and neither do I, that does not mean its invalid or has no value. Gen Z's Tic Tok culture is a participation culture. Its not the dance, its the taking part in a moment. Its "I was part of this". So for you, 5 million Gen Z doing the same dance is idiotic cos YOU were brought up by Gen X in a hyper-individualistic "memememememe" culture. Which was a massive bummer for you cos all the money, property, and good jobs ran out so you were left with this universe view centred around "self" and absolutely nothing to validate that "self". You were told that being an individual and a success and having status were the most important things and then dumped into a world where none of that was possible. So as a generation you are defined by "entitlement" [instilled in you by Gen X Parents], "whining" [at not having the things you were promised], and "uselessness" [for not achieving the great things you were told to achieve but not given the opportunity]. This is not your fault. You are a product of your parents and your time. But I'm sorry, Gen Z are an astonishing generation; they are more creative than even the 60's generation. They are more organised than any generation in history. They have no more love of technology than they do a paintbrush or a wrench, they have little interest in consumerism. They know its THEIR literal future on the line and they are prepared to fight. They have grown up in terror of their own futures and they WILL leave a better one for their kids. The world Gen Z build will be an amazing one. And that will be precise BECAUSE theirs is participation and communal generation. Those idiotic Tic Tok dances - they will be political activism one day. Those 5 million Tic Tok-ers currently doing the Madona Material Girl dance, they will be voting in a unified block or protesting at the capital in the upcoming years. They are currently writing letters to congress to get the Tax-exempt status of curches in America revoked if they say anything political - and its working...!!! They are getting revoked. Pay attention and think about why this is appealing to so many. There is a message being sent. Sounds like rainbows and unicorns but look around the globe and see what’s happening and this is all dangerous , normalizing the horrors that could happen is warming you up to the idea. I like the season analogy. I’ve always looked at life like a football game and quarters. I’m in the third quarter and kicking ass. Sure hope I don’t fumble ….. ❤️🏈. I read the Forth Turning several years ago at the recommendation of a friend. Need to revisit it. Picked up Life Force on Audible the day it was released. Tony Robbins was my motivator and best (free, YT) life coach for at least a year, probably 2 or more. I’d be driving down the road saying “I” and getting pumped right along with his “real” audiences, even waiting on the train to come by😂. I can probably quote close to perfect many of his lectures, tell ya about his beginning and $50 bets that he’s lost, and so on. Just wow. I’m sure he doesn’t need me to tell him the impact he’s had on my life and so many others. Even though I rarely listen to motivational speeches anymore. Many times I catch myself saying …. What would TR say …. I have notebooks full of his teachings …. If you don’t like your life , change what your doing., happiness comes from fulfillment , your wants have to become your musts. Take massive actions. #masterpiece became my word for the year a couple years back. Thank you Tony for being one of the most important influencers in my life. I hope to see you in person some day. 📌 Honestly i must say that the book transformed my life, I wish i learnt most of these principles about twenty years ago. A lot of people have been trapped strongly in the matrix-- Go to school, get a job, and then slave your whole life. Many miss out on life-changing information that could have great effect on their finances. I played with the stock market sometime in 2020, and I was surprised at how well it turned out. I want to start up with a big portfolio more into the market. I heard people are making really great returns despite the downturn. Any recommendations?

Haha So, so telling imo. He spoke a lot and said nothing of value. Def not playing on the good team. The people who have planned things and are pulling strings have been under the current umbrella of orgs since the 70s. Some tin foil types often mention predictive pr0 gramming in arts and media. Could this author be part of that creative elite? I am a generational in-betweener x/y and growing cynical by the day. Tony, I actually hope you see this post and what I'm going to share. Just by the first 10mins where you talk about history and predictions. And I may be jumping the gun so to speak or even repeating something you covered but I don't like the idea of giving my power of living my life the way I see fit by giving it to a weird book someone wrote that is most likely in bed with the ones that don't want the best for humanity. The way I see it is the reason it is so "accurate" is because the people that wrote them where part of the group following through with "the plan". Yes, we should be prepared in some ways but the best damn thing we can do at ANY AGE is not fall for the BS playing out in the outside world. When you don't draw your attention to it, It doesn't freaking matter... it can't exist. " Energy FLOWS where YOUR attention goes!" This planet can be a challenging place (Earth) and even though there might be the ones trying to take away all sorts of things from the masses to remain in a position of false control... They can NEVER EVER take the essence of who I AM or anyone's I AM presence! People would be better off ignoring the control freaks, turning off the news, acknowledging that there are unsavory events going on but, you can only better yourself, you are ultimately responsible for yourself. Just because one can acknowledge something, in no way means that they agree with it! Huge difference between acknowledgement & agreement. Working on oneself is the ultimate gift of love and helps the whole on all sorts of levels. I mean no disrespect but honestly, if I read every book from every Tom, Dick & Harry out there claiming to be an "expert"( and it is so rare to get 2 "experts" to agree on any subject)... I'd be even more confused, more messed up, more off course. I guess that's why I don't read much because I want to learn by my own internal wisdom and not someone else's. Seek and ask your inner self questions in Stillness. Know your I AM presence. This too shall pass. I shared my download from my I AM and it is what it is. Thank you for understanding and contemplating my message. Stay well Everyone ✨☺️✨

I feel like the voice of the feminine and women is somewhat missing in this conversation... and I feel like that is part of this turning and new possibilities ... and conflict inspires us to grow to next levels... curious what we will create in the days to come. There are much longer cycles to explore as well...

I enjoyed this very much. I even subscribed. As a millenial/Gen xer (not sure), i'm wondering what the landscape will look like in the future but I will say this. It's getting harder and harder to make it out there. One income households are becoming impossible and there's less family formation as a result. Just look at the birth rates in the west.

Yes, I disagreed on a lot of the, supposed, Gen X, stereotypes. I agree they are latch key kids who raised themselves and value independence, but disagree with much of the other things he said. In fact, at one point it was widely spoken that the most superficial, money-centric, possession-centric was the Boomers, AKA yuppies. They set a trend for caring so much about money and possessions. Also, Millennials and Gen Z seem not be community oriented but rather control oriented as they were raised to never have any options for self choice and to punish anyone with a different opinion.

It is possible to solve important problems on sunny days, that is why you say ‘anticipation is power’. Instead of waiting for events to happen, you voluntarily get down in your subconscious patterns that create patterns that you have no idea about. When you solve your subconscious patterns, you change your thinking and consequently how you take action which creates solutions to important problems that had been created by the old subconscious patterns BEFORE their occurrence. That is why Einstein said: that you cannot solve a problem with the same mindset that created it. So, anticipation is power when you solve your unconscious patterns because, not only does it solve anticipated problems, but it solves problems you don’t even anticipate. So, how do you voluntarily step down in your subconscious? Simple: you eat natural dark foods, such as black sesame seeds, black rice, black beans, black quinoa etc. without meat. Eating these types of foods puts you in a position to face the dark side of your subconscious that you have no idea about, that you cannot control, and that you don’t know exactly how they are linked to current or future problems. So, this is how you solve problems from a dark place on sunny days. You don’t wait for difficult times to get you motivated, but you willingly tap into the discomfort of your unconscious patterns. You eat black natural foods. The darker the color, the more nutritious a food is. So, black foods are the most nutritious of all. Paradoxically, the more nutritious a food is, the more you tap into the pain of your inherent unconscious patterns because pain is stored in the cells of your body. Just the way, white sugar pumps you up and gives you energy and it makes you feel good, it keeps you on top of problems, but it has a negative effect on your health. Why without meat? Because you want to solve your own subconscious problems, not others’. Meat is a dead animal which means during the day, you perceive information as ‘dead’ which is conflictual because you absorb the fear of the animal when it was sacrificed. That is why if you eat meat in general, you should always serve it with greens, to heal it. You heal the fear, a negative feeling that comes up during human interactions in your daily routine, and you heal or solve the conflicts that come from other people. So, if you want to heal your OWN fears and negative feelings, you don’t eat meat at all and consume black foods combined with greens. How does it happen? Whatever activity you have the next day after eating black foods, it will trigger your pain points. And this is what you really want: to get your pain points triggered by small or usual events that you are used to because it is more comfortable to face your pain by being in a safe place which is the sunny days. You want to trigger your subconscious patterns during sunny days. After your pain is triggered, you also want to heal it. That is why, you should combine black foods with greens, any food that is green, like arugula. So, after eating black foods with greens, the next day your unconscious pain points will get triggered, but you will also heal them, you will get over them. It wont be about other people, but about you. And this is the smallest change I can make as an individual to prevent unwanted events, fully enjoy life, and create better outcomes, events, and solutions.

TR finish the video in a happy note. 'Don't worry, after this winter it will come a happy spring and 80 years of prosperity'. What he didn't mention is: Only if we won the 'Winter War'. If we loose it, will be 80 years of nightmare. Don't believe me? After WW2 America and the UK won the war. In Western world had 80 years of prosperity. But you forgot the Ester Europe. We lost to the Soviets and we lived 80 years of disaster. South America didn't participate and didn't win the war. Their lives and economic was and still is very bad all those 80 years. You always assume the good guys will win the war but what if we loose it? They are 2 wars that may be fought. The WW3 against Rusia, China and may be some other far east countries against the West. If we don't win this war, Nuclear winter will come. That won't be a happy end. The other Winter War is the fight for liberty the Wester word population against the NWO, Us against Klaus Schwab with WEF and WHO and all their puppets organisation and govs. If we don't win this war will be no happy spring and no 80 years of prosperity. It will be a global prison with no bars, Jub Passes, Lockdowns, 'We will own nothing and they will be happy' kind of thing. Currency linked with Social Credit Score. Mass surveillance controlled and reported by AI. Will be no Happy Spring and will be 80 years of disaster. It is hard to imagine that. But only people who lives through it and saw their country being destroyed in front of their eyes can tell you how it is. Is no joke. You take the winning of WW2 for granted. You can't imagined loosing that war. But if you think that one time it could be lost. In an other time line the Nazis could develop the A bomb before the USA and west could loose the war. Instead of Nagasaki and Hiroshima the A bombs 'could ' ( in an other time line) be dropped on Americans soil. USA invaded by Japanese ( and they were not the friendly Japanise tourists from today. They were Imperial ruthless warriors.) Imagine Western Europe under the Nazis. Not a happy 80 years. The war coming this winter is for our own life and future generations freedom and prosperity. The stake is 80 years of freedom and prosperity or 80 years of Build Back Better' a Global nazi/comunism system where 'you own nothing and they are happy'. Don't take it likely.
