Great video. Just got my MT125 and I can't wait to get digging. I used to have a New Holland TZ24DA which is about the same HP, but I didn't have a backhoe with it. I cut my stumps to 4' and rammed the top with the NH bucket to loosen and then removed with bucket. Not so smart on my part as I think I cracked the chassis using the NH tractor as a battering ram.

Congratulations on the MT125. I hate to hear that about your loader. Loaders of any brand tractor will not take ramming stumps. It is one of the most common mistakes made with tractors.

Hi Tony, Well this vidio is 9 months old and since then I have dug some holes myself so I return to your video's to get some pointers now that I am actually using my tractor. But what I wanted to comment about was the drone photography. I have commented on this months ago but being a member of the Civil Air Patrol I have gotten involved with the Cadets and building a drone for them. The handicap drones seems to have is battery power. That drone hung in the air for a long time watching you fill that hole. How long will your drone stay airborne before it lands itself with a low battery? I continue to enjoy your video's and continue to learn from the LSMT125 master. Thanks Tony.

Watched your channel because of the titan tiller video. Was looking at buying one, think I will, it looks pretty well built. Suggestion for stumps in the future, cut a 90* V on one side of the stump about 2' from the stump to break the roots. You only need to go about a foot deep. Pull em up and work em towards the stump. If you'd had a bigger unit I'd say break em closer to the stump, but they can get kinda thick. Anyways, free 3 edges up. Then either push or pull the stump away from the tip of the V, rip it out, knock the dirt off, and haul it away. Got 36 acres of trees and so far that technique has worked pretty good for me.

I have a old dexta tractor without loader or backhoe...I use a mid-row buster and go all around the stump , when sawing the tree down I leave the stump 3 or 4 feet tall , that way ya got some leverage when hooking the chain on it. hope this helped someone out

Nice job on the video. I like the drone shots. You have a new subscriber from NC. I'd probably not bury the stump due to later having to deal with the sink hole. It could be awhile depending on the species. It's fun digging anyhow :)

When it didn't fit you should have made a fire and hanged out to dry an fry it. That was a seriously great and deep fire hole to burn the stump in, multiple times.

Now I ain't going to say that the backhoe is the wrong tool. It gets 'r dun and it's a lot of fun. But my preferred method for stumps is a hammer drill, a real one, and some Anfo or black powder. And if you have the ability when you are felling, leave the stump a good five feet out of the ground. That way you can usually tug it out with chain.

Tony, I have an LS MT125. I bought it used w no manuals. I cannot figure out what the galvanized flat bar (with 90 degree up turn on the end) is for. It protrudes out from the black part of the cowl close to where your right knee would be when seated. Thank you in advance

Still doing fine and I drive over with my truck and trailer from time to time. Some places settle fast. So far, this red clay dirt and rock is doing good. I packed it well filling. I drove the front tires of my truck over it too. I left it with a slight mound which is flat now. I am happy with it.

Im on fence about buying a mt125 or the larger mt225,,,my question is if i use a box blade to try and pull up some poision ivy n vines that are all over the place,,,they are about 3 inches under ground..im sure the larger tractor will..i can buy a 125 with backhoe for 19k or a 225 with backhoe for 23600...any suggestions

I just used it and then changed the oil at the 50 hour mark. Many people fret over break in time. The tolerance on engines nowadays is unbelievably accurate.

It is really no difference than having a stump ground off. All this roots rot away turning back into soil. Our area has high clay content, and believe it or not, a buried stump takes many years to decay. It does not get oxygen or nitrogen in high amounts which are parts of the decay process. Some of my stumps have been buried for 5 years and still stable.

You'll eat through chains like crazy, when the machine is perfectly capable of cutting the roots. I've tried, multiple times to release things with chainsaws, but always find it's better to just jump in the mini and smash them with a digging bucket

Every spring, couldn't predict the day, but i'd come in and my office would be covered in termite wings. The builder had buried so much wood under the facility, in the 1960s, that, every year, they'd come out of the ground, mate, drop their wings and then crawl back underground and get back to work on the buried wood. I left before I could see what was going to happen when they ran out of wood.
