The velomobile has a full cockpit cover, so the additional dog-ear mirrors remove a small blind spot in my vision. I have overlapping fields of view to the sides and the rear with the blind-spot mirrors.

I think that the driver of the automobile was likely to hit the brakes in order to cause me to collide from behind. When he pulled into my lane, his speed was high enough from the overtake that I had plenty of reaction time, which was to simply maintain my speed. Such a foolish driver.
