OYSTERS!! My great-grandmother claimed to LOVE Oyster Dressing (or scalloped oysters as the family called them) and couldn't wait for the holiday meals where they were served. She'd eat the dressing part, but the oysters were always left on her plate! I never heard of Oyster Stew until I married by husband who is from Minnesota. Up there, it was THE thing to eat on Christmas Eve. I think it was a holdover from the Scandinavian traditions. Like the Feast of the Seven Fishes in Italy, when Catholics abstained from meat on Christmas Eve as part of a spiritual preparation in anticipation of the Feast Day.

We have the best doctors and dentists here. Also, I’m a widow and really appreciate Bubble wrap. I’ve learned so much from him. Have not tried the hot water heater yet. A little scared of it. He may want to do a segment on cleaning the heat pump line. My air went out and had to call a repair man. Had a clogged line and when it clogs there is a switch that automatically turns off the air. If I had known I could have unclogged it or better, cleaned it before it clogged. Love your show

Thanks for everything you guys do to keep us informed about the Villages thru your KZbin videos. If your house in The Villages has natural gas service, you can swap out the range for an electric one, as well as your clothes dryer, although you may have to have someone install a 220-volt electrical outlet for those appliances. When we built south of 44, we specified gas and electrical connections for the range and clothes dryer so we would have a choice of gas or electric appliances. The heat is all electric (heat pump supplemented by electric heating coils in the air handler). The water heater is also gas, but they are mounted on the outside wall of the garage, so that's not as concerning as gas appliances inside the house. I agree with your comment about electrical solar panels. Most people here in the Villages are not going to live long enough to see a payback on solar panels. The only reason I can see to install them is if it makes you feel good to do your part to help create a green environment.

BTW: We are on the beach, I do agree with the distance TV is from the beach.. it's more like 2 hours..We have friends at TV and they vacation here on Amelia Island a few times a year for the beach.. If you can afford it, move closer to the beach if you love walking every morning on the beach. and enjoying the warm ocean water's from May to November. If the beach is not your thing, TV is perfect... Central Florida is full of lakes and springs. This state is paradise...

My bad my week has been so busy I’m behind on my videos I think a few years ago the villages hospital was rated 1star that’s where the poor health care came from plus with me it was stories from friends who live down there.. in the area how hard it was to get a doctor and my friends husband actually had to go to Orlando to get his appendix out Ocala’s wait times were too long his would have burst. You are right about spring and fall in Fl they are beautiful.. I still love the villages the concept of it all and if it weren’t for my health issues we’d be there and over crowded ( for us) I was right Peter’s house is spotless . You know what I’d like to learn? How did all three of your sons choose the academies they did , and the military for career even if they don’t stay in for life I know it’s not unusual but sure is amazing they did it and succeeded

There are plenty of senior communities on both coasts. If that’s your thing, I’d suggest you look at them. I for one, live right on the water on the gulf coast. It’s great but I’m really not a pool/beach person. It appears that TV is great for those that want a busy social life and clubs to join. What I find nice about the Village’s is you are close to many areas. Ocala is more remote and great for boating-hiking and so close. Gainesville has Shands Hospital and U of FL with great medical services. I hope you find “ your dream retirement place” in Florida.

We use your Amazon Storefront a lot! Margo and Mike have a lovely property! We keeping hearing that Oh Shucks! is a good place for oysters. Paul is allergic to oysters, so we don't look for them. Doc Crow's in Louisville had fresh oysters, but I stuck with the meat sampler and succotash. My grandparents used to make oyster stuffing (no thanks). Visiting the Snow is great but not to shovel. The weather is just perfect now! We are so grateful that you had good treatment at Leesburg hospital. Heads UP!! The rental golf carts don't have seat belts unless they made it a new regulation. Please no families visiting from up North that are sick and bringing their sick kids to visit grandparents! Not a nice gift. Thanks for all of the tips, Peter! We have a CDD here in Bradenton/Sarasota area.....ours will be around $40,000.00 over 30 years......the new homes in the Villages can cost as much as $120,000.00 if you pay the bond over 30 years.

Hey guys gas is fine. I've only lived in gas homes for 71 years.
@cynthiaamitrano89157 күн бұрын
Love the story about the house with the gas furnace blowing up in Texas. I just had my oil furnace replaced on November 13th with a gas HVAC system. Should I sleep with one eye open? Incidentally, you can’t shut your gas off inside your home and expect not to be charged. You will have to contact your local gas company and they will shut it down removing your access. I’m sure there are pipes outside each home that has gas. They’re either buried or exposed. I hope they’re buried. Ours are buried in Minnesota. I got tired of paying $1000 to $1200+ to fill my oil tank. Electric heat in a large home in Minnesota is extremely expensive. You’d have to go with solar panels to assist, but that’s not practical with our snowfall, heavy as times. More feasible in a rural setting. I live in a congested neighborhood. Also, installation is pricey. I hope to be moving to a new tiny home community within the next 18 months. I already have a buyer for my home. I’m just sad I’ve had to do all these major repairs, roof, furnace and air conditioning. My air conditioner destroyed my furnace.

GM Jerry & Linda. Happy Monday. Oh nice you are up and about Jerry. Back to your normal everyday 👏🏼. Oyster 🦪 is not a fav, especially raw. But will eat oysters Rockefeller. Even in NY the weather has been mild still. Mid 40’s at night. Still 50’s to 60’s during the day. Great question re:golf cart & babies/children. I would think golf carts are car seat 💺 friendly. Always great tips from Peter Bernard. Who would think chapstick had that use? Thank you. Omg. Love Voctave. Their rendition with the writer Mike Lowery of Mary Did You Know is amazing. Love David Cook since American Idol. Oh a whole choir. Peabo and Ruben? Wow. They have a lovely variety of artists and music. Great holiday line up. Dont need to be close to the beach. Especially during those storms and hurricanes. Pools are just fine. Omg Jerry & Linda. You guys are silly with the Botox question 😂😂😂. Got sinkholes last week. This one I’m stumped. Ask Amy is correct. I have everything written with phone numbers and account numbers. Beneficiaries and where to find my username and passwords. This out and about needs another try it seems. I'm late commenting, I have running a little behind all week. I guess thats better than a BIG behind. I am like you Jerry, I like fried fish, shrimp cocktail and grilled shrimp. The rest you can keep. Seeing people eating oysters looks like they are swollowing hunks of phlem. Linda you should try German style Red Cabbage, it has apples, cloves and just smells like Christmas. Bye
