Considered a MD also, but went for the Goblin since I did not have time to build. Somehow I ended up with a Mini Drak as well, but I am still waiting for nice weather to test it.... They are both great airplanes

Great save!! Hey, I have a question for you since you seem to have experience with a few of the aircraft I am considering purchasing. I want a medium/long range aircraft under 2M wingspan which is suitable for the 4s 3000mah batteries I have. I have been looking at the Mini Talon, X8, SkyHunter, Opterra, and Ranger. I want it to be somewhat maneuverable, yet efficient. What would your recommendation be?

I would go for the Mini Talon. I flew with a single 3700mah 4S and got around 15-20min of flighttime. I thing you can fly it with both a single 3000mah or two in parallel if you want longer flightimes. Havent tried the Opterra or Skyhunter, but both the X8 and the Ranger had some issues...

There is quite a bit of latency to fight with in the split as well. At 100mph and 30cm off the deck you can get some PIO (pilot induced oscillations). While working out the bugs in my plane I just found a low latency firmware for my goggles. That small reduction was very noticeable when trying to skim bushes at speed. It meant the difference between 4 feet AGL and being able to do 2 feet AGL.

How does the plane behave on the pitch axis? I built a somewhat similar plank, and it does not feel locked in on the pitch axis.

It is pretty locked in, but at this speed and altitude even my small rates (30% on elevator) seemed like it was at 100%

No damages other then the prop. Have fiberglass tape on the bottom and vertical stab to prevent grinding it down on the asphalt...
