Hi, I have some questions about your Mayfly V2.0 build, I find it very intriguing and would like to know more about the chassis and batteries. Is the 3D frame model available? did you cut it yourself or did you use some carbon fiber cutting service, for example on aliexpress? If I wanted to create one too, what are those iron rods inserted inside that distance the upper plate from the lower one called? What batteries did you get (amperage?)? , how does magnetic charging work and how do I connect the xt60 cable? I hope you answer me because I want to create a record-breaking drone like yours. Thank you and goodbye
@ampedfpv8 ай бұрын
1. I designed the frame and had it cut by CNC Madness. I wasn't happy with oscillations in the design, so I don't share it. 2. The "rods" are called standoffs. They're aluminum with 2mm threads. 3. Batteries are Molicel M35A 18650 in 3S configuration (refer to specs) 4. For other answers, please go to my Rotorbuilds link and the IntoFPV link on my Rotorbuilds page.

1. are you using Betaflight or Inav? 2. why you given up from 2S version? ( i m curious how would your 4" setup compare to 3.5" LR setup with 1303.5 5500kV motors and new biblade 3.5" x2.2x2 HQprops)
@ampedfpv2 жыл бұрын
Yes, INAV. I found the 2S just didn't have enough watt-hours to go this far. It would be interesting to test the 3.5" setup, but usually smaller props are not as efficient for long range. Thanks for the comment!

@@ampedfpv I run 2s 4" on 6000kv 1404 and can get 20 minutes on vtc6 or longer on 21700 p42 but, the extra weight usually gives me less flight time how I fly. I had another 4" 2s on 4800kv 1404 that weighed a good bit less, I sold it because I like the extra power of the 6000kv but, the guy I sold it to said he was getting 30+ on vtc6 so I bet p42s flown conservatively would get about the same flight time as this.

Yes, Lithium-Ion batteries are generally better for long-range vs. Lipo's. They don't have the same high C ratings that Lipo's have, but they have better weight to capacity ratio vs. lipo. Very lightweight drone cruising at constant speed doesn't have a high current draw, so li-ion is ideal.
