It is literally IMPOSSIBLE that the players don't know the basics of football. We have seen each one of them play fantastic in the past. What they don't know is the basics of the new system Amorim wants them to play. They aren't gelling as a team. (Or they aren't even trying!) Amorim has learnt a lesson that most Bruno fans have refused to believe or are unable to comprehend. Both Ralf and later in his reign also ETH knew, that when united faced a team that is well organised and possess a highly technical midfield, Bruno needed to be moved out of the midfield and placed somewhere he could cope and do less damage. The two above managers usually picked RW or false nine. Amorim has now learnt this valuable lesson and if he wishes to persist with Bruno or his clause won’t allow him to be benched, must address. The issue Amorim has is unlike other formations, there’s no wing position to hide Bruno in such situations and taking off the Striker to play literally 3 CAM’s plus a double pivot would be insane. So the question for Amorim will be: When facing a team that is well organised and possess a highly technical midfield.. Where do you play Bruno ???

‘74, I remember that season all to well! Just a scant 6 years out from being the first English team to win the European Cup and we were relegated to the old Second Division. No such thing as “too good to be relegated”. Amorin’s first order of business is to make sure we do not get in a relegation battle. Then use the summer to fully implement his plan. Too many of that squad are just collecting/stealing a living, not to mention some are padding their retirement account.
