Too Late to Replace Tories with Real conservative party

Peter Hitchens tells Peter Whittle that he takes little comfort from recent commentators finally admitting he was right to say, several years ago, that the Conservative Party needed to die in order to establish a truly small "c" conservative party.
He believes the moment for such a revival / replacement has vanished and that if the Tory Party dies at the next election, it is unlikely to be replaced by anything conservative. Modern-day Britain, he argues, lacks the heavyweight conservative figures required to give such a party intellectual and political birth.

Since John Major the Conservative Party has been diluted with every successive Prime Minister which accelerated under, that Blair clone, Cameron. Now it has absolutely gone. We no longer have a Conservative Party. We need a party that is pro UK and the people of the UK and neither the Conservative nor Labour fill this position. Well said Peter.

People can't think logically any more. The Tories are dying slowly and unless we get SOMETHING that represented views of people outside the cities, we are like to get worse and worse. Sorry, Peter, I only realised the Tories were rubbish when I started to look at politics seriously. Got there under Cameron but, probably too late.

I won't be voting for either major UK party next time, but sadly this may lead to letting Labour in which will be an awful tragedy. If people would vote for what they actually believed in, rather than voting tactically (because of our first past the post system), then we might have proper change. I'm certain the Tory party will suffer major collapse at the next general election. Conservative leaning folks like me will not be voting Conservative next time because the conservative government has been truly exposed by the climates of hysteria around pandemics and climate change. They are directionless except for raising taxes on hard working folk including lower and the middle income folks like me. This was all started in the idiot Blair years which the current 'so called Tories' have continued. Work doesn't pay since working is taxed to death. 2022 was the year we got some common sense freedom back, but it was not the year we hoped for....instead we we're being screwed over by high taxes and mega inflation due to fuel (diesel, petrol, gas and electricity). I hold this government completely responsible. No excuses blaming pandemics and wars. We have been exposed to this crap by bad planning of our elected leaders. They need to go, even if labour are the result.....but I won't be voting Conservative or Labour. From the outside, I would be classed as a professional person having attained university degree, with a good job (typical Tory territory). They're f**ked, I'm sick to death of them coming back to me for money. P!ss off and leave me alone. My time is also important to me before I die, I'm fed up of having to spend more and more time working paying taxes for idiots to waste instead of myself and family. I don't work for everyone else. I work for me and my family.

Thanks NCF. I really do hope Peter Hitchens can find the time to talk to Connor Tomlinson from The Podcast of the Lotus Eaters YT channel. These guys are trying so hard to conserve the Britain which is rapidly being torn down and dismantled in front of our eyes. If Peter could pass the baton onto like-minded future generations it would give us the hope and the strength to survive. Some people aren't ready to give up the fight.

Conservative Party is never going to collapse under First-Past-The-Post. Yet Hitchens, being a reactionary, can't pry himself away from that system. He needs to make up his mind. Keep FPTP and you keep Conservative Party.

As a voter who had been let down and disappointed by Labour and now the conservatives I feel like giving up on voting. The Reform Party however have given me a last hope for this beautiful country. If that project fails we are truly up the creek without a paddle and Klaus Schwab wins. Nazi's have never been far away in finance.
