Iam getting 15-16 KMPL easily in city and 19 KMPL in highway....onetime i drove in 50-60Km/h due to heavy rain and it gave 21.9 KMPL ..Thats my best..... My 2012 VW Jetta is giving a mileage of 13 Kmpl in city and 17 Kmpl in Highways , problem in altroz is its a NA engine , most of the smaller NA engine face the same mileage issue . Turbo Diesel is a better choice when considering mileage and power . PS: Don't consider the myth that petrol cars will be inexpensive compared to diesel , diesel cars should be daily driven. these may apply to 80s 90s cars not the modern era ones

I've been using altroz xm+ petrol for 1.5 years. On the highway I'm getting 19 to 21.5kmpl . In the city I'm getting 15.5 to 16 kmpl. It all depends on the driving style. Yes ,I agree that the after sale service is prominently poor . Car build quality is excellent 👍.. Tata needs to focus on the after sale service...

Bro,I own Tata Tigor Petrol which weighs approximately same and engine specs of three cylinder,1.2L naturally aspirated which is as same as your altroz I am getting 21-24 in highway and 18 in moving city traffic 15 in bumper to bumper traffic. It's all depend on your driving pattern brother. Try to be soft on pedal and don't accelerate or apply sharp braking unnecessarily. Try not to ride more than 100kmph. Maintain constant speed and Ofcourse service is extremely pathetic god knows when tata will address that. But I think mileage is the one which you can improve by changing your driving pattern

Hello Mr ram I am an owner of Tata altroz As you said i can sense the pickup problem, no wonder it's because of the 3 cyl engine which doesn't sync with the weight of the car. I am getting a mileage of 13-14 kmpl. I always make sure that i don't rev up above 1200, and i downshift at 900-1000 rpm. I travel about 100 kms weekly once or twice to college i get a highway mileage of 21 kmpl at once I got 24 kmpl. Regarding service sometimes i feel it's a gamble. But when we tell our problems regarding the service of the dealership in a nicer way they make some efforts to rectify the problem.

Bro. I bought altroz xz turbo at 10.45 lakhs. Initially it was good to drive after 5000 km engine oil got leaked for that they have changed new engine after that I have faced lot of issues. Thermistor, clutch bearing and some more parts were changed so far. Half of the time my car was in service garage only. My fate. Comfort and safety is good. After sale service is so poor.

My altroz having manufacturing defect in door panels and also recently have noticed changes in engine sound(kreech sound) then also wheel noise mine only 5 months old SRT SERVICE TEAM COIMBATORE one of the worst service station they not resolved any problems total time waste 1 weeks ah service center la irunthuchu onnume pannama vachutu kudithanunga .. as a tata customer i would suggest tata brand better go with other reliable brands, service team mayire pochu nu irukanga also sales team sollave Vendam. Honest Review. You need to know a person within Tata Motors service so that your vehicle is serviced properly. I had a tata indica turbo diesel earlier and had a wonderful experience. For mileage please ensure you drive within 1500 rpm in city and on highway not more than 2500 rpm. Also ensure smooth gear shifting and pedal the accelerator smoothly. I own Tiago and I easily get 14-15 in city and 18-22 in highways. Altroz has engine same like tiago (non turbo version). Also only few service centers are bad, but not all.. In Chennai I had good experience with pokma tata and gokulam tata Keelkattalai. Both are good 👍

I own a Tiago 2020 model in city it gives 14-17 and in highway under 90 it will give 20-21 all these numbers or in AC on only. Pickup issue is there because it is 3 cylinder and not direct injection also Use 3 gear to overtake and above 3000 rpm it will give enough pickup . They tuned the engine to give linear power . I tried some rash driving from pondy to cuddalore 30 km distance I really enjoyed and the average is 14.8 kmpl it's ok and I'm the only person in the car so no weight issue also. And I did not shit to fifth gear also that time because it double lane road only and most crowded area . And also done kolli hills without AC and got 22.7 kmpl total 500 kmpl .the problem is when AC on you lose everything power mileage heat all. And I'm researching how to tackle this issue if I succed I will inform you and every one can benefit the idea.

Bro I too own xz(o)Petrol.. Pros : 1. Solid build quality.. It's made like a tank.. 2. Safest hatch back in India with 5 star ratings 3. The fit and finish inside the cabin is too good 4. In highways I get mileage of 26.4 without aC and cruising in 80. Cons: 1. City mileage is worst, I get 13 in bumper to bumper traffic in Bangalore 2. After sales is tooo worst, from 1 year I m still waiting for them to resolve the rattling noise that comes from engine bay. 3. Naturally aspirated engine performance is quite low where u can't overtake even in 3rd gear. 4. Outside sound is evidently hearable inside cabin. But out of all.. This is the best looking hatchback compared to i20 and Baleno...!

I also own Altroz. Those who are reviewing Altroz are mostly new car users. The might not know about the performance. Simply floor it the engine and telling the mileage is Not good. My person experience is its very good car compare to all hatch back. Am 20+ in highway and 15 to 17 in city. My cruze speed is above 100. My odo is 16k+ stil i didn't face any issues. Once u know how to floor it . Then you never ignore Altroz.

I too have Altroz xm plus service good in Chennai Lakshmi tata .. millage city side 10 to 14 km per litre. Highway based on drive below 2.5 RPM millage 20 km per litre solid . If we push more then 100 km speed it will reduce to 18 km .

Ford freestyle is 3 cylinder but has higher 95 bhp compared to altroz 86 bhp its also having mild pickup but we need to ride as per 3 cylinder needs . Momentum is needed more for 3 cylinder than 4 cylinder .

Polo 3 cylinder thaan. I have tiago. I have no pickup problem. I had raced with honda jazz and swift ecosport etc. With ac on at level 2. No problem with pickup. I had gone upto 145 above which engine was ready but i was scared because of thinner tyre profile my base variant tiago has. May be your specific car has some issues. Its 100% worth for the price I paid just 4.8 onroad including all accessories like fog lamps, stereo systems,etc. But for altroz it is not worth the money because the price is arond 9 L i think so. You should have gone for iturbo model. Altroz NA engine is not worth. I also started driving in my car only. I also get 13-15 only in city but 20+ in highway. When driven in ecomode at 80-90kmph. Trip is showing 25+ but i got 20.4 tank to tank. I had drive 14k kms but in 3 years not 1 year. Service centre issue is there they should improve if we go without any pre preparation they try to charge and do no service at all. but your engine definitely has a serious issue this mileage i also got but it is a drive full of pot holes in 2nd gear which is acceptable. But 13 in highway is possible only when diven insanely above 140kmph with ac in full blast.

I hav Altroz diesel Bought oct 2021. I started facing this on 1st of Jan 2022. I was facing lot of issue with bs6 catalytic converter so MDF light will blink in the dashboard. I check with the service executive regarding the issue first of all they don’t understand what is MDF Sensor after tat they try to update software 3 (Chennai, Hyderabad and thiruvandrum) times still I was facing the same issue. My uncle working in Tata commercial vehicle service so he advised me this issue with fuel injector so diesel mixing in oil sump.. dipstick oil level increase after changing oil. So again I went to service centre and I asked to check fuel injector and oil issue after that they said no problem with FI I asked to check and they check and they replaced fuel injectors. (Thy are not ready to hear what costumer saying I told tat executives tat I have 4 cars and I faced same issuer with my Ford after it’s run 135k KMS. Luckily my Ford service center executive were recently joint in Tata service he said this is my old customer he knows abt car then only tat heard me) Everything is fixed now but I am not sure whether it will happen again. On the built side Quality is very well I have travelled more than 7 to 8 state on this car covered almost 5000 km on November 2021 in the initial time the performance is very well but all changed after Jan 22.

I own a TATA HEXA XT 2017 NOV model. It is an amazing vehicle I get 14-15kmpl in mixed driving and 17kmpl in highway driving. I never cross 2300rpm. I drive sedate. At 2100 rpm car maintains 110 KMPH in highways 6th gear. so it is an amazing highway cruiser. If i drive in around 3000 rpm then mileage drops to 9-11 city and 13-14 highway. It all depends on the driving pattern, tyre pressure. Tata service centers are pathetic i must say. So i never give my car to service after i did 3 services with them. I source parts on boodmo and do the service myself. For example if a regular service costs 11K Rs for engine oil, oil filter,air filter, gear oil, brake pad cleaning, and washing vaccuming& labour, If it do it myself it costs less than 3500 for parts. If i get it done from local mechanic, it costs 1000 rs labour. So still 6500 could be saved.

Bro don’t put the petrol after tank fully dry I mean after the fuel light on try to fill it before bcs fuel pump will get weak quickly one or two times no problem but if you fill fuel every time like this 100 % fuel pump will damage May be that’s the reason you feel the Petrol smell . Try to fix it in warranty period otherwise it will cost you more. Same problem happened for me when I was in abroad.

Bro based on your use and budget pick the car, but one thing no car part is cheaper,some say maruti is cheap in service but truth is quite opposite, so if you plan for heavy built but you can compromise mileage go for tata ,na engine ,you need punchy performance select turbo, or mileage go for diesel altroz....in Hyundai i20 is the premium hatch but ground clearance is very less it will touch down when fully loaded. Baleno is good in mileage but keep in mind maruti spares are not cheap . clearly select the fuel (petrol or diesel) based on your use and select the car bro... But the above mentioned cars are based on my experience,just for the reference ,those are cost around 10lakhs when u bring it to road... Test ride and ask for user review in person to get exact pros and cons..

I too have have tata Altroz 2 years old.. XT model.. I get 14 on city and 18 to 20 on highways with AC on.. Also service is better in Chennai area.. they give a regular follow up.. and my car doesn’t have any complaints so far.. cost is more lesser than other companies.. All Cars usually have few complaints while running.. all vehicles needs a good maintenance.. Mileage is purely based on driving speed and pattern.. its not that u drive for a year and u are a good driver..

I own XMPlus, Mileage - 19-20km (highway). As you mentioned even i feel the power is less when car is loaded with 4 persons, i had to turn off the AC and be in 1 gear for the smallest bumps and even in ghat sections. Which i wont do in other cars. And yes go for XT rather then XM Plus.

You have to switch off ac to accelerate above 50-70kmph in celerio did you know that. My car tiago. Took 6 adults each weighing atleast 70kgs and moved without any problem with ac at full blast. I even accelerated to 80kmph upslope. Engine felt smoother than it was without such load. Mileage you said is right with 4 people in highway at 80-90kmph.

One point would like to add is mileage is depending to driving pattern that's correct, another point in the petrol versions of the premium segment hatch they tend to give a engine that's low on power, as the weight of some models increase many users tend to push the vehicle, when you push the vehicle beyond what a 83 ps Hyundais inline 4, the car will start sucking more petrol to reach the higher rpms to get the maximum possible, these engines are best driven smoothly for better mileage pushing it will only reduce mileage, Even a 115 bhp creta when driven smoothly will give you 10 in city, don't go by people saying my petrol car is giving 14 in city, that's possible only if your throttle input is as smooth and precise. Same car I bought on June 2nd. And 1st service not done yet. Im getting City millage of 10-11km and highway I got 16.5KMPL. Even im new driver im not expert with this car only i have learnt and learning. I agree pickup is less but just down shift and move on. Go tata for safety not for Higher performance is my suggestion. Major cons I have faced google map is not coming in Harman when connected with Android auto. If anybody knows please share here. thanks.

Brother first of all you’re a new learner , you should ask someone to check on this! As far i have seen altoz is one of the top selling in Tata there are lot of underpowered cars in this segment. Yup mileage depends upon your driving style( a decent driving style ) Nissan Magnit is also 3 cylinder ! Likewise What you mentioned as problems aren’t problems at all. It all can be cleared by proper service and proper handling. I hope you ll soon need to change the clutch plate! As far as i guess you ll rest your feet in clutch.

Nice Review, I also bought TATA ALTROZ XM in Tiruppur only, after first service I shift to Erode . My free services completed, they are 1000 times better compared with Cbe and Tiruppur service center. Mileage I am getting 14 in city and 16 to 17 on highway bro. Build quality also too good.

Bro my car giving 15 kmph to 17 kmph city. Highways around 20 kmph.. Petrol variant only. Service in coimbatore SRT is good.. Only thing is we have to be patient and give them some time to serve us better

Dear Ram, iam the owner of Tata Altroz diesel XT version, I am facing service issue only. I got 27kmpl for highways, 20kmpl in city or sometimes 18kmpl for city. First thing fit and finish very worst. Second servicemen don’t know how to rectify the problem what we faced. Third thing 3cylinder petrol engines is best one, because that gives more mileage and low power, but Tata not refined the engine properly. Tata should improve the service person

I owned Tata Nexon petrol and getting same milage bro.. city 10 and long trip 14. But mine is turbo petrol and no lag in performance while over taking. But yours is not turbo and you will feel lag, but milage should be high in NA petrol. But I too heard from my friend who owned hyundai aura petrol too giving same milage.

Just change the gear when it indicates in instrumental cluster...or change the gear at 2000 rpm...you need to reset the trip meter during long drive for checking mileage....tirupur traffic la avlodhan kedaikkum!!

Altroz deserves 4 cylinder engine. This is the same revetron 1.2L engine placed in one segment below tiago and tigor. This petrol engine is absolutely underpowered for this excellent altroz chasis. Service is one of the poorest areas where TATA need to improve a lot. I own a Tata car for last 5 years and service is utterly flop.

Altroz already has iturbo variant which doesn't have any of this issues. No need for 4 cylinder. Even bmw has 3 cyl cars. Polo is a 3 cyl car. The tuning is important. People should research and get right product for their need if they need pick up they should buy iturbo. If they need mileage they can get ordinary.

The turbo charged installed on same tigor and Tiago’s revtron naturally aspirated petrol engine. Altroz chassis is gem like German cars, the petrol engine that took DCT on it is pathetic in performance. Poor dct. Even punch’s one liter turbo charged is more capable than altroz petrol engine.

Bro, I heard there was some issues with spark plugs in certain batches of Altroz. I would suggest you to change the Spark Plugs (Try BOSCH) and check the performance. Hope it should improve. I also heard from multiple Altroz owners.

May be due to Spark Plugs issue (pickup could be less) you might want to accelerate more to get the grunt which in turn reduces the mileage (heavy footing).

I am not sure why everyone is so into the driving style alone. Nobody is going to revv their engines while on city roads. Also I understand about frequent gear shifts that lead to decrease in mileage but you ppl need to change your mindset that petrol cars will give this muc mileage only. You need to force the companies to make better engines or bring alive a future proof concept in your lifetime. If you guys are settling in the mindset like this there won't be any innovation happening anytime soon. BTW you guys need to know that not only the driving style that contributes to mileage but also the body built/weight, passengers travelling etc., Know that, only if everyone gives your voice as one you can make the change.

I have Tata tigor. The Revotron 1.2 l 3-cylinder engine is commonly used in tigor, tiago, altroz. Yes the engine performance is very bad in City conditions. The mileage is very poor. I get 9-9.5 KmPl on average in city limits. Yes you need to downshift gears frequently to match speed because the low end torque is very poor.
