You missed the penalties that go with turn overs and sacks as drive killers and short field for the competition. Our O line miscommunication you covered well. Love our defense and love that we have over 7 chunk plays per game. We have what it takes to win it all but need to play better and eliminate our own mistakes.

All of Texas’ goals are still in front of them. The offense will step up. The defense is what it is and will be very good the rest of the season. Now Sark has to manufacture a winning formula for the rest of the season on offense and find its identity.

Why when Georgia was getting to Quinn, did they not get a fullback or linebacker to stay with him to block those Georgia linebackers?
@johnpieratt147419 күн бұрын
Your LB or End suggested blocker would’ve helped Quinn immensely against Georgia. O Line must adjust to stunting defenses.

I'm holding onto hope that Sark is playing Jedi mind games and has a plan for his offense to peak in phase 3 of the season and beyond

I'm not sure Texas can take another loss and make the playoffs with our schedule. We need to finish up our schedule without a loss.
@notpoliticaljustarealist396919 күн бұрын
They can afford 1 more loss. As long as it comes at the last second of the sec championship. But another loss before would be possibly fatal
@JosephSterle19 күн бұрын
Agreed, and I think it’s unlikely. Unless we reverse some recent habits we’re not winning both at Arkansas and at A&M. Maybe neither. It’s gonna be a huge downer if we go from 6-0 ranked #1 to 9-3 and in some meaningless bowl game. They can still have everything in their control if they get serious fast. But right now the “standard” is either too low or else they’re not meeting it.
@bitfenix9019 күн бұрын
Arkansas and a&m will be tough. Anyone remember what a&m did to 2005 Longhorns by almost crushed Vince Young. I expect this far more from the ags, and Texas clearly does not a Single Game Savior like VY was.

@@bitfenix90 Eric Hogan doesn't think AU is to be too concerned with. He said he watched them and they are up & down.

@ Exactly. And Arkansas treats games with Texas as some kind of holy war and we’ve not done well in the last several games against them. At least it’s not a night game (from what I saw). We’ve got a few weeks that might change my mind but if I had to bet my house right now on the A&M game I’d say they win. I hope Texas gives me more confidence soon.

Texas will be a “good” team but not a SEC winner or serious Natty contender until the offense goes to the next level

Why join SEC ? Should have stayed in a conference that you could win every year and get automatic bid to play offs ?

Sloppiness all year long, every game, even in the lopsided wins over the cupcakes. Tentative play by Ewers, with an absent downfield or running threat. I don’t see any likelihood of us beating Arkansas and / or A&M on the road. 9-3 and Alamo Bowl. I realize I’m in the minority, but IMO, if Sark started Manning the rest of the way, we’d go 11-1. I think his errors would be outweighed by his athleticism. Alas, we won’t get to find out this year.
@lingerinlead8042119 күн бұрын
Arch has shown he is not ready. He is not adept at reading defenses yet. That only comes with experience. You think you have a better read on this team than Sark? Quinn has three years in the system. You can't replace that.
@drm236419 күн бұрын
You should probably find another team then, if that's the way you feel.
@theanthonyv19 күн бұрын
@@lingerinlead80421 And yet, with all of that being true, there’s no confidence in Quinn throwing downfield. He’s not a threat to run either. He’s also shown questionable judgment regularly, attempting throws into very disadvantageous coverages. He persistently under-throws balls, throws behind receivers, and throws to the defender’s side of the play, where picks or knockdowns are much more likely. His eyes look hesitant, like he’s afraid. He doesn’t have on-field commanding presence. We’re throwing tons of check downs / screens, because, evidently, we need Quinn to get comfortable or ‘bounce back’. He’s a 3rd yr QB, early season Heisman favorite, and has CFP experience… why do we need to soft-pedal him like he’s fragile? No defensive coordinator is afraid of Ewers. If he starts all remaining games, we’re going 9-3. Manning is a Hail Mary, yes. But when he’s in the game the entire offense seems to get a spark and play with more enthusiasm and urgency. I understand why Sark is sticking with Ewers. But I don’t expect it to work. Just my opinion, could be proven wrong and hope I will be. We shall see.
