I'm so doing this! Great idea! i recently re-folded all my sweaters and organized my close,t and couldn't believe all the great pieces I had that I had forgotten about. Another bonus to doing this is that I'm sure it saves money. Either you don't buy anything for a while because you realize you have lots of great stuff, or you are a lot more intentional when you do buy something. Thanks for this and all your great ideas!

I am doing this now in preparation for an upcoming trip so that I can pack with more intention and make sure that I am comfortable and love everything that I bring! Thank you for the timely video!

Best advise I have been given in a long time. Thank you! I am new to your channel, and am sorry I did not find you much sooner. I have WAY to many clothes. I always have. My father was a manufactures rep for women's clothing when I was growing up, and we got the samples. I got in the habit of having an over abundance of clothes early on. I am in my 60's and am just now starting to explore what I might really "need". Channels like yours are becoming very helpful. When I bring out my spring and summer clothes I may give wearing everything a try.

A wearing everything in your wardrobe challenge sounds like a great New Years project! I definitely have too many clothes and I am sure that a lot of them don’t work for me anymore between menopause and starting HRT. I keep shape shifting!

Your video brings up so many thoughts ruminating in my head. It is such a great topic. Thanks so much for sharing and being so inspiring. Your ideas found here are so helpful and I will try to make sure I am wearing all my wardrobe. I have pared down my garments and now I design and sew clothing that will work with my existing pieces. I think living in a climate that has four distinct seasons, is why I have so many clothes in my wardrobe. But truly some of my pieces don't get worn on a routine basis. I also buy used clothing, expensive pieces that I can't really afford to buy new and don't want to use my limited clothing budget for. It is amazing what people sell or give away. Every new season brings new styles, and we are bombarded with fun new clothes. I try to stay away from the trends, and I focus most of my sewing now on basics which are often missing in the stores. And these basics are in the wrong color, or they are full of trendy styles that make them too specific of a design to be a true basic. Just having garments that are cohesive and work well together has really helped me to find happiness in my daily wardrobe, to be able to layer and switch things up using these same basics. And taking photos is great way to take stock and see all the possibilities of what will go with what, it works. Thanks for a great video.

I truly want to enjoy what I have and that means wearing it and enjoying it. Not looking at it on a hanger. So I have been doing my best to get an appropriately sized wardrobe for me. Years ago you did a video on an at home capsule and I have used that concept to make sure that I have enough in each of my capsule areas, yes, sometimes too much but it was really helpful to focus what I was assessing and the goals of pieces I have and when/where/how I wear them.

I usually pick a category based on the season to do this. Shorts in summer (only have 6 so not too hard) or sweaters in winter. Bodies and feelings about clothes fluctuate. This helps me feel less overwhelmed

This is such a relevant point. By this time of the winter if I haven’t worn something I force myself to wear it to work. By the end of the day I either love the piece or like your red leather jacket story remember why I haven’t been wearing it. I feel totally comfortable letting it go at that point. I do a rotation with my clothing so it’s easy to identify the items I keep skipping over.

I force myself to wear everything in my wardrobe. I do my best to make each item work and if I end up absolutely hating it by the end of the day, it gets donated. I figure out why I don’t like it to avoid the same mistake. I am realizing this winter that I need more colors that flatter me and that I dislike formal sweater jackets or cardigans with dressy buttons. I’m also realizing that I don’t like plain tops. I like some sort of pattern like a stripe, or a donegal sweater or at least a small pocket.

Thanks for your valuable insights. I use to shop just to fill gaps in my hanging closet. This was disconnected to actually wearing the clothes.

thank you for sharing all your knowledge with us dear Kristen. For me it is a big challenge to aktuelle get myself into the "doing part" 😊 feels like it takes ages, but I try to stick with it doing little by little. The pile of clothe "make something different out of it" grows😅 But I like the materials for exampel, beautiful cotton. Well I m glad I found your channel you are such a great encouragement. 😊

in the deep south, even with this crazy SNOW 'blizzard' we have from the end of October until the middle of March MANY days in the 70F plus, less than 30 days in those months that are below 40F. (we have a month of winter, just not in a ROW!) as much as autumnal and winter pieces may call to my "acquisitional nature" it is a WASTE for MY life. i THOUGHT that my summer clothes would perhaps NEED more....BUT i wore the same three linen pants AND the same four linen shorts all spring/summer long
@sandyfisbeck94884 минут бұрын
If you take turns wearing everything is they all wear out more slowly
@maewyn0150 минут бұрын
I don't understand why you think being this wastefull is okay?! Atleast give them the advice to stop shopping for the next 5 years. So they get to wear the things they already own.

I enjoy your videos but I feel like you need to slow down a bit. You are talking too fast and I find it hard to follow sometimes
