Oblivion just maybe the most op character in comics. He literally represents non existence. He talks to the reader in chaos king, breaking the fourth wall. He is literally the opposite of toaa. Due to what he is, he can never be killed. If a writer (toaa) ever stops writing oblivion stills reigns as he literally represents nothingness. In a sense you can even say oblivion represent a omniversal aspect. He is like a blank piece of paper.

I always interpreted Oblivion as the “self aware blank page” that Marvel comics are written on. I mean at one point he literally mocks the reader for turning the page. Oblivion and The-One-Above-All combined, create the Marvel omniverse as we know it. The MCU version could be the screen...?? But yeah - not sure how they would show that.

i feel like as we progress past the infinity saga the stakes will start scaling up and the heroes will scale with them, we already know that at SOME point we're gonna be dealing with celestials in the mcu and the avengers as they are now would have gotten obliterated by celestials, thanos is a more reasonable enemy in that he poses a massive threat but given the right planning and execution the avengers could feasibly defeat him. they wont start introducing big bad multidimensional beings and universe creators or destroyers for a long time but i think that we'll start seeing some progression in power starting with Dr. Strange and moving from there. I also think the MCU will likely become even more divergent from the comics by granting new abilities to the existing heroes, especially ones like winter soldier and hawkeye. dudes with a bows and guns is just not gonna cut it anymore, they have to metamorphisize into something bigger.

Oblivion never takes direct action to destroy the universe but if it gets destroyed, he'll be happy. Eternity will always protect existence, fighting the endless cycle. Oblivion will always win, Eternity and Infinity are just fighting the inevitable.

I'd love for more "Too Powerful" videos on beings that are stupidly strong but still comprehensible and plausible as villains. Mangog is just the concentrated hatred of everyone who hates Odin made manifest, I think by the Odin force. Yeah, that's weird. It's a fun story to talk about. It's hilarious at how many writers have wrote such wildly inconsistent things about him. But he's not some abstract idea that requires you to redefine the nature of reality to comprehend. He's just a guy you can punch in the face. And if you are stronger than the "million million million lives who hate Odin", you can survive that punch.

@@shirshanyaroy287, in truth, I don't know that much about him either. I know that his race tried to invade Asgard to replace them but Odin repelled them, killing all but one in the process. That one was Mangog who swore eternal revenge in the name of all who hate Odin. In truth, I don't even know if he actually draws power from those who hate Odin. It might just be metaphorical and he gets power from doing 100 sit ups, 100 push ups, and a 10k run every day. Though I believe he was once defeated by resurrecting his race so they didn't hate Odin anymore.

It’s impossible to say for certain. But I’d say no, probably equals. He states he’s been around before creation, but the one above all IS creation, he doesn’t say he created the creator. This is more of a philosophical debate than a comic book one .

Oblivion is not only indestructible but also necessary. If all things come from Oblivion, then once something is destroyed entirely, it would need to come from Oblivion if it has any chance of coming back into existence in any form. So, even if you could, you would not want to destroy Oblivion.

To stands to argue that the foil to Oblivion is the Phoenix Force. Both Oblivion and the Phoenix Force are mutliversal beings that represent two opposing forces: Nothingness and Creation as well as Destruction and Resurrection. Oblivion may have come first before the Phoenix being the eternal darkness of nothingness, but the Phoenix was born in the void states of being (that brief moment between nothingness and creation) and represent the flames that brought light to what has been infinite darkness (LET THERE BE LIGHT!). One may argue that it was the Phoenix which forced Oblivion to keep to his domain as nothingness is filled with creation, but it comes to argue that it will also be the Phoenix who will allow Oblivion to step out of his domain once the Phoenix destroys all creation as part of the natural balance, setting back all creation into nothingness. That is until the Phoenix decides to reignite all life via resurrection. Also, the fact that Oblivion holds all the souls of those who were erased from existence while the Phoenix cares for all the souls of those yet to be born clearly makes them somewhat of each others opposing forces.

The Phoenix isn't an "multiversal being" as much as it is just a universal being that exists in all (maybe) universes, just like Galactus and the Celestials. It has nowhere near the level of power that Eternity, Infinity, Death or Oblivion have, it's more akin to Odin and the likes.

The case can be made that Oblivion is actually Omniversal. Rob kinda got it wrong that's he's only Multiversal. Its not that hard to see why. You cant defeat something that literally doesn't exist. He represents the concept of nonexistence just like the One Above All is supposed to represent creation. The Marquis of Death destroyed the Beyonders with a wave of his hand and he's not even considered close to someone that can beat Oblivion. The Chaos King who is literally an Avatar of Oblivion destroyed 98% of the entire MARVEL Multiverse. Imagine how truly Oblivion really is. The only person I see that may can beat him is Protege, since he has the power to copy anybody he sees and there was no limit to who he could copy.
