Too $hort was relevant in the '80s, '90s, 2000s and today. Blow the Whistle is still in heavy rotation up in the club full of 21 year olds and Too $hort's first tape dropped in 1983!

How did the 1987 album "Born to Mack" go platinum and the 1989 album "Life is... Too Short" end up going double platinum. Someone had to know who he was in order to sell all those albums. And just so you know, prior to Dr. Dre's Chronic, Too Short was the the second richest rapper second only to MC Hammer.

I was a little kid when I heard my older cousin playing "Cuss Words" in his car. What I remember most about that song was the beat and the bass. On top of all that boom was Too Shorts high pitched voice. Short was pioneer in many ways. Most of all he was smart. A lot rappers got turned out on drugs. Or they were shot up due to beef on the streets or with other rappers. Or they were in and out of jail. Too Short avoided all of that. He made his music. Made his money. And kept a low profile. And 30 years later you can tell he's doing well for himself still.

man, this was a good time for me.... ridin' the AC transit down SPA and hearing these cats freestyle off top about everything we were ridin' by and everyone that came on and went off the 72M, all the way from Berkeley to the Rich.
