You know, its really cool to see Casper Van Dien enjoy his role for Starship Troopers. Theres so many actors that make it in Hollywood cause of one major film and that film kinda goes with them for the rest of their career and it really annoys them, so much so as treating fans of that media like absolute shit because of it. Casper gets the ball of Starship Troopers and goes all the way, he is the perfect man for the role. Hope to meet him one day.

Commenting this five years later, but if they ever rebooted starship troopers, to be like the book as casper mentioned, he would be a great actor for Johnnys father . It's would be great because he's basically in the beginning, then comes back in the middle, and then the very end. What great ending shot with his arm wrapped around Johnny like the end of the book. Nerdy fan thought I guess.

When I saw ST in 97 I thought I was going to see this actor much more in the future with action movies. But for some reason unknowm to me, it didnt happen. I think hes a good action actor. ST is a true classic, I was stunned back then with the movie as a whole. And it has aged very well too. Cool also when the actor himself is also a fan of the film :) he can be real proud of this one!

If you read the book, at the end, you learn that Johnny Rico is from the Philippines. His mom just happened to be in Buenos Aires, but Casper did a good job, even without the suits.

The satire was Subtle and helped progress the story or helped in world building or character development it served the story’s purpose in the first movie is why it works In the following movies it was obnoxious over the top and pointless They got to make it count in a reboot and do it right so it doesn’t come off to cheese or overly camp

I agree with Casper, if they do a reboot or sequel or whatever they still need to have him as Johnny Rico but they should also kind of do like what Star Trek did an update the bugs aka the Klingons and then just kind of ignore the original movies make it more like the book or make it to wear like I guess the bugs got smarter and started making technology and space bearing ships.

I think a reboot like that could actually work. Maybe have some callbacks to the original series but not super over the top. Reboot, stay closer to the book and have fun with it. BTW in the original book the bugs actually had some form of tech and tactics. The asteroids that land on Mars in Traitor of Mars that were carrying bug spores could really be a form of space bearing ships honestly.

It got reevalued in the following years, it took people some time to understand yhe satire, now it's considered a cult. It's the scarface effect, scarface was also disliked when it got released but got appreciated years later
