In action, these rules look even better than on paper.

I love the elements of command (in)decision. As with Chain of Command, players must prioritise their pool of command points.

So far so good (29 min mark) but what's the point of the guessing game - apart from driving your opponent nuts? Would not a die roll (maybe opposed) suffice?
@ruckandmaul50184 жыл бұрын
Of course, however this method involves both players, and hopefully is a little different.

Is there smoke in some form in the game? PS Like the way mortars work with harassing fire etc.
@ruckandmaul50184 жыл бұрын
Yes, battalion mortars can lay smoke and smoke missions are available from off board artillery.
@jony6634 жыл бұрын
Rich, when you did the opportunity fire on the retreating German troops, can you declare the attack as soon as they start to move so they will be closer and possibly in a nearer range band.
@ruckandmaul50184 жыл бұрын
Yep, if using Opportunity Fire the player decides when to fire at any point in the opponent's move, as long as his Opp Fire dice roll is successful.

Given your discussion at 19 minutes, do you recommend rolling for numbers of Command Orders in secret to prevent the opponent from having an unrealistic edge?
@ruckandmaul50184 жыл бұрын
Yes, you could, (other than for Initiative purposes), it would certainly add an extra element of uncertainty to the game.

Was the Firefly and its lack of HE taken into account with the Sherman troop?
@ruckandmaul50183 жыл бұрын
Yes, the Firefly has less HE Firepower than the standard Sherman, so the platoon loses firepower compared to a standard all Sherman platoon.
@davemitchison67984 жыл бұрын
Is there a maximum distance that the three sections in a platoon can be away from each other?
@ruckandmaul50184 жыл бұрын
Base command range is 2" between sections for an infantry platoon, however if you have figures mounted on large bases, its recommended they are placed in base to base contact.
@davemitchison67984 жыл бұрын
@@ruckandmaul5018 thanks for that, I am using standard size FOW bases 3cm x 4cm so base to base it is.
@peterdavies66604 жыл бұрын
What scales (the tanks don’t look like they’re the same as the inf?) are you chaps using here?
@ruckandmaul50184 жыл бұрын
1 figure base = an infantry section of about 10 men. 1 AFV/Gun model = 2 Tanks/Guns, (though can be 3 on occasion).

Looks like a great game with excellent command and control. Always good when you don't have enough resource to do all you want and you have to prioritise. Keeps the old Gray matter busy. When will they be available?
@wildbillsworkshop34104 жыл бұрын
Will a PDF purchase option be available? International shipping rates are just too expensive to consider buying a hardcopy. Very interested in this game as it looks like it is a lot of fun. Rules also seem very solid. No PDF option sadly would be a deal breaker.

Do tanks have a facing, like with infantry?
@ruckandmaul50184 жыл бұрын
Yes, "standard" tanks are the same as infantry, casemate/TDs have a redued arc, while Open Top AFVs (e.g. M10) have an enhanced arc.
