Thanks for the tips! As a battle engi, I tend to make the pistol a priority over the shotgun if my sentry is up. The firing speed combined with the sentry’s fore can be surprisingly devastating, and the reload is much better than the frontier. I usually save the frontier for when I have the crits.

BellPepper it depends on the play style you choose. Mine is usually a Wrench or Gunslinger engineer guarding flank routes that the enemy team could use.

Remember: if you see a friendly level 3, think where a demo would have to stand to destroy it and cover that spot. It's free real estate.

@Flickering Lightswitch depends if the fight is moving or static (i.e. are we pushing ir falling back or no) if it's static your best bet is supporting the team via teles, dispensers and helping other engineers, using the mini sentry to catch out over extension or pushes, if it's moving you wanna get your mini sentry somewhere it can assist in 1v1s, take out flankers or fleeing enemies and generally do damage while you engage in fights alongside your team/gun.

best underrated tip: at times you can build your sentry gun first and then move it up because the mini sentry already deploys 3 times faster than normal, this tactic increases it to *6. You heard me, redeploying makes the build-up six times faster than normal.*

This is just for Engineer in general, but my priorities are usually supportive. If I have a sapper on all my buildings and im close to them then I remove them in this order: Tele, Dispenser, Sentry. Keep in mind Sentry Guns get kills, Dispensers save lives, Teleporters win games.

Another tip I have is knowing when to battle engineer. A lot of players I see roll battle engie, but place their sentry around their dispenser and teleporter and hover around them. This playstyle is more for a regular leveled sentry if you are just gonna stand guard over your buildings. Better to have a leveled sentry between you and your buildings than a mini protecting you. Battle Engineer is for an offensive playstyle, not a defensive one around your buildings.

Whenever I'm playing Battle Engie, if I notice there's a lot of spies running around and the front line is a very chaotic and back-and-forth (third point on badwater comes to mind), I'll place my dispenser in the doorway of a flank route. It makes it so that a spy or whatever class needs to actively destroy the dispenser before moving forward, giving me ample time to warn my teammates of an upcoming flank.

tip: stock shotgun and panic attack are VERY good when you have a hidden sentry. they will be distracted with the sentry damage and you can get close and maximize you damage with those six shots.

Tip #11: Don't forget that you have a destruction PDA. Instead of crossing the entire map to save your sentry, just destroy it and build a new one (even if you don't have the metal for it, it's really easy to obtain 30 or 40 metal for a building).

one tip, if you are on blu, on a map where you cannot build during warm up...go medic for one life, or for even just one uber charge. the difference one more uber can make is astounding. I mean think of the possibilities, you uber a scout and he spends all of the uber running in and out of spawn exactly as if hes not ubered, you uber a heavy and he runs inside to get ammo cause he burned it all durring warm up. you uber a spy and he cloaks, you uber a demo and he pulls out his bottle and chases a scout for the entire uber charge, my personal favorite is to uber just myself, run into the middle of everyone and hit the "meet the medic" taunt, its a great way to get reds attention for a few seconds while your team congas out the front gate.

I love using the jag to hide sneaky level 2 sentries in the most stupid spots people would never look. It's nice because the time to kill is just as faster than a level 3 if the rockets miss (they usually do in this case), and they're easy to build. You'll rack up an easy 2 - 3 kills and then you destroy it and move it into a slightly different position.

My battle engie set is Panic attack, short circuit, and gunslinger I hardly build anything unless its control points or i'm making that one heavy or sniper a dispenser With the combined power of the panic attack and shotcircuit, it is possible to do 121 damage if used around the same time. The short circuit can hit many targets and if you have great aim with the shotgun, you are quite unstoppable. You can also 3 shot heavys if you know the flank routes, my reasons on doing battle engineer is because it's the scout but slower and more supportive you can unsap building, MAYBE build stuff and help out that one teleporter at the spawn thats level one. And I beg of everybody reading this, don't underestimate the panic attack! Yes, there was absolutely no point in this comment. I was just saying the good things about a battle engie.

As a battle engineer main, a lot of these make sense, but some of these i do not agree with first note is that while yes tele is top priority, you don't play battle engi because you wanna build buildings, you play battle engi because you wanna feel like a force of nature without going scout, you wanna kill people as a short hard hat man, but if you really want to tryhard then yes, focus on the teleporter, however if there's another engineer on the team who takes care of his teleporter, then your own teleporter isn't nearly as important as it would be usually, a tip i would give is that if your team doesn't need a main teleporter, you can setup a teleporter at the start of a flank route, because it's not at the frontline so you don't have to protect it, and it helps teammates choose a different path, or maybe just place a teleporter a bit behind the main teleporter so that if that breaks the team has a teleporter that is far back enough so that it's hard to destroy without overextending, while still helping the team second note is that the time you spend building your dispenser, you could be killing people, if you want to help your team, build a dispenser, however if you want to commit mass genocide, just go nuts third note is that you don't have to use frontier justice to be viable as a battle engineer, if you find yourself failing with the frontier justice, that's completely okay because it can be a hard to use weapon at times, in such cases i would recommend switching to another shotgun (that isn't the rescue ranger or the pomson) even with those notes, these tips are all great!

I've noticed the Widowmaker and Panic Attack work better for me as Battle Engie. Panic Attack because of the burst damage, Widowmaker because sv_infiniteammo 1. The Widowmaker also has a minor damage buff against whoever your sentry is targeting, which can make your "be half the damage" a little easier.

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to equip the Short Circuit for your first life in Payload attack, so you can defuse the enemy spam ... It may not seem like much, but the new short circuit is really good for this because the energy orb can take out multiple rockets at once, combined with the ammo supply from the cart, this is a really effective tactic to properly roll out of spawn Then you can use your Wrangler, but if your team has to push through a spammy choke point again, you know what to do

In CP maps especially powerhouse you wanna build a teleporter and a dispenser and a small mini then lvl them up. In 3CP games or small maps like koth even a lvl 1 teleporter and dispenser help.

I also build sentries right next to really useful medkit areas so that the enemy team has to destroy the sentry in order to heal themselves (PS. don't do this if you are the only engineer on your team)

i like using the pistol while the sentry is up because i can get some distance from enemy to heal, but when my sentry is down and i don't have metal, or the enemy is too close, i use my shotgun, engie shotgun at close range do an incredible damage that 2 shot everyone expect soldier and heavy.

Widowmaker is OP in spacious and melee-like range. It deals full 125 DMG if all bullets hit, and it's very good in spacious areas [exc. trade_bigcity_winter]. I also prefer the Engi's mechanic hand to deploy sentries faster, but it's commonly just a health booster. The mini-sentries perish easily and become small ammo boxes to other classes. It's just there to tender up the damage.

So, I sometimes play Arsenal in Roblox. I decided to follow some of your tips in your videos, namely strafing and attack evasion. From another guy, I learned to always keep the crosshair at head level. Combining those 3 crucial elements together, along with previous experience and motivation from seeing your advice work... Fj is alright. Personally I use the stock loadout. It's balanced overall but when I play I don't care about my buildings. I place lvls 1-3 sentry in a sneaky spot, the dispenser ALWAYS near my teammates. They need it more. And my teleporters depends on the tide of the battle. But in most cases, they're placed on stairs or other slant grounds so the enemy can't easily pass by. And if it's a spy, well... He just revealed where he is and gives me a general idea of his next movements. It's a fun tactic because I dont have to be so dependant on my buildings. And since I main engi, I have a habit of scavenging for ammo by taking ammo boxes or killing people. And when I have over 150 metal, I come back to my buildings and upgrade them. Kind of like a bird parent taking care of its kids. This also works with the eureka effect.

#11. Always rush no matter what. If you have a stock shotgun and a low hp mini, RUSH TO IT, PICK IT UP OR REBUILD IT Seriously this subclass is hard to master. And the first few things you experience as battle engie is how fast you rush.

to be honest, i prefer to use the standard sentry, just not upgraded for battle engie. (sometimes) the reason being that the lvl 1 sentry doesn't havee a bright light on top of it, signaling the enemies that it's there
