What? When you couldn't even get a decent coffee? When Chinese food was the big thing in cuisine!?!?!? When you had to wank when you heard Olivia Newton John's "Physical"!?!?!? My friend, I disagree.

I took my elderly great uncle for a haircut at the barbershop in Burwood. Doug Walters came in and spoke with the boss - apparently about Rothmans cigarettes ( I did not smoke then, as I was around 15). You could buy cigarettes from barbers then. I was so disconcerted that I didn't utter a word. He seemed so normal and friendly.

Interesting David. I lived across the street from Chatswood Oval and can't say I recognised it - will have to watch it again, lol. Upon rewatching the ad, armed with that info, there's just a glimpse of the NW [?] end of the grandstand. Not enough to recognise where it was. Thanks for sharing.

It was a great era ,good advertisements, and fantastic exciting cricketers.... now serialised, multicultural overtoned advertisements. 70s &'80s were great times in Australia 🇦🇺

What are the lyrics at 0:31 ??? How do you feel when you walk on the field Knowing you're the last to play How do you feel when you face a new ball And the winner's just five runs away How do you feel when you hear the appeal And the umpire says no way How do you feel on the very last ball And only a six will save the day How do you feel when the ball is fielded ??????? (At 0:31 I dont understand) How do you feel? How do you feel? I feel like a Tooheys I feel like a Tooheys I feel like a Tooheys or two I feel like a Tooheys I feel like a Tooheys I feel like a Tooheys draught brew

0:31 "How do you feel when the ball leaves the field and clears the pickets on the way."

Also, a minor correction to your already resolved lyrics. It should be "when you face a new ball and a win is just five runs away".

Nothing wrong with VB or Carlton Draught. As my old grandad used to say; 'No such thing as bad beer son. There's good better, then there's even better beer.' lol But then again, he was a Reschs Dirty Annie drinker [Reschs DA]

Who designed the beer can back then? It says Tooheys Draught and there's a picture of a beer on it, with a plain white background. A lot of thought went into that one!

Corona is a girls beer. It's so insipid that a wedge of lime is inserted in the bottle neck to give it a hint of flavour other than donkey piss.
