I am honestly a bit surprised by the mold choice. Everybody thinks about something big and menacing when hearing the word "dragon", so I have guessed a retool of Transmetal 2 Megatron could have been likely. And if they didn't like the noodle-dragon-head-arm in his robot mode, then a heavy retooled Sludge would have been a great choice too. Both with the right retooling could have gotten a cool looking chinese armor in their robot mode aswell.

It makes sense. They were aiming for the traditional Eastern dragon design, which is far more slender and snake like (As well as wingless) compared to Western dragons. Steelbane was really their only option

Canada, Australia, and every other country that still answers to the UK as part of their territory has different spellings for numerous words; to the point it's usually called International/british english.
