Was going to comment this before I saw so I just liked this comment and hopefully he will review that next! It's called "the golden triad" and it's an absolute masterpiece that is also just like a spiritual awakening for the soul! When it hits you it will make you realize just how genius Tool actually is it will make you realize alot of things about life and how we are all connected and how our own personal egos and our pride are meaningless and in many cases could even cause our own demise.. Tool is on another level compared to almost any other band and NO I don't have to get high to enjoy TOOL..they are like a natural high for me. The whole Lateralus album in my opinion is their best album and is something that will sound amazing generations from now in my humble opinion. I think what's grooviest about these reactions is how open people are now to listen to music not in their lane. When this came out, rap fans listened to rap, metalheads to metal, and we kind of stuck to ourselves. But now rappers are listening to Tool, pop artists are listening to hip-hop, metal artists are vibing on pop, everybody's checking out stuff from each other in ways we didn't before. It's really nifty how all the "tribes" are meeting, interacting, and appreciating each other more and more. It makes me hopeful for our future, because appreciating each other is the first step towards caring for each other and actually improving the world.

There were themes throughout the album that were Hicks' concepts on which they expanded. Third Eye is an example of this, hence the addition of the snippet from Bill's bit about the war on drugs. No dude, he's referencing Bill Hicks and singing about how he hates L.A.

It's about the hedonism of hollywood, and the entertainment industry in general. Arizona bay is a direct reference to two things. Superman the Motion picture, and Bill Hicks's 1997 commedy album.

If Jamel hosted a party with all of his subscribers there, it would go down in history as one the coolest and chillest parties this world has ever seen. ✌🏼

So much larger than L.A. This consumer/corporate culture which is really a death culture. Learn to swim. Learn to regenerate the land. I'm blown away that TOOL puts this to music and lyrics with such spiritual power.

I'm a huge Tool fan and THIS song is a REAL warning and I really enjoyed this video, WELL DONE. Learn to swim, go back to our basic roots of living in harmony with nature. RESPECT nature. Live SUSTAINABLY. The paradigm that exists is unsustainable. Change or DROWN.

The first concert I took my younger brother and little sister to was Tool at the International Ballroom in Atlanta on the Aenima tour. I'll never forget it.

Jamal - Thanks for entertaining us. You speak the truth!! I'm 56 years old and avid music fan with no real genre on my back. If it sounds good, it is good. I was introduced to them by listening to some bootleg basement, live shows in LA. When Opiate came out I was beyond hooked. Seeing them live for the first time, Aenima tour in '96 at the E-Center in SLC - After that show, I promptly drove to Nampa, ID and saw them again two nights later. Unforgettable. A recommendation from me to you would be Tool's Parabol as well as Reflection. Both from the Lateralus Album. Thanks again!!
