Congrats on a successful first in-person video. You knocked it out of the park. However, you neglected to talk about your most used tool. That insulated coffee cup. Behind every job well done is a good cup of coffee! I grew up working alongside my dad who was a professional finish carpenter. He was so efficient with his movements and tools he could work half as fast as me, carry half the weight and get twice as much done. Experience = wisdom. Inexperience = blisters.
@MORGANSMaintenance2 жыл бұрын
You couldn’t be more right if you tried! That’s great you got to do that with your dad. I’ve been able to work beside some great people. I’m glad I had enough thought to watch them and see what I could learn from them. The more we have the right tool, the less tired we are from the extra weight or extra movements… the more enjoyable the job is going to be. For me, if I’m enjoying myself I do a better job that I’m proud of. That sense of accomplishment at the end of the day is what keeps me coming back for more. Thanks so much for sharing!

Hey Morgan, have you been able to find a drill holster for the M12 surge with the rubber boot in it?
@MORGANSMaintenance2 жыл бұрын
@@matthewnowak3488 not one that it fits “in” real well. I had a Dewalt one that it didn’t and The Atlas vest holster is a little small for it too. I got to the point that I just either used the Spider Holster setup (more secure) or the Driver Master with the belt clip. Although…today I used it with the Joey Pouch from Holstery and it fit in it pretty good. I had some screws in it and out of habit I just stuck it in there. Not secure enough if I was doing a lot of bending over I don’t think, but it was as good or better than the Atlas or Dewalt. Sorry buddy, not much help. I haven’t used many of the Holster types where the drill fits in something.

@@matthewnowak3488 I really like it if you are working in a way that a drill might fall off a clip (or out of a holster) The ball that goes on your drill handle doesn’t really get in your way. I was worried about it when I looked into it, but after I got it it wasn’t an issue. Primarily I use it and the DriverMaster from Holstery. The DriverMaster if I’m just walking around, the Spider Holster for Hardcore 😂 The tape holder for the Spider system is no good though. Don’t waste your time on that. It is too tight and hard to find a tape measure that it works with. I did mount a Spider Holster Mount to the side of my ladder and it works good though.

Laziness is what makes the world go round. And efficiency is just lower-grade laziness. For me the best way to go is a tool belt with additional light-duty suspenders. Sometimes I use a vest, but it gets me overheated quite fast. Absolutely no front pouches. In fact you're quite compatible with your voice. I think that we need some solid workshop/garage tour; it looks quite interesting and pleasantly tidy. Your filming is getting better and better. Keep up the good work.

One thing worth trying , especially if you are working up extension ladders , at heights etc. , is a canvas splice bucket . ( with a messenger line ) , good for parts , tools etc . It can be readily used between the ladder , and the wall . Lanyards can be a great help , plus another layer of safety ( especially at heights ) . My “ base layer” is a two piece , compact belt kit of my own deviseing. That’s the foundation , other stuff can be added as needed !

Thanks for sharing. I mostly work at step ladder heights but occasionally off scaffolding and extension ladders. Great suggestion on the bucket and lanyards. I really like the Holstery products so far. Good to hear from someone else using them. I just got the Joey pouch and I’m liking it a lot. I was torn before buying the Atlas vest too. The price is pretty steep, especially when you start adding things of theirs to the mix. I actually bought the Chest Rig (Apron) first because it had all the pockets and stuff built in thinking it was cheaper. I returned it because of the mobility issues of how I planned to use it. Once I figured out I didn’t have to use Atlas stuff I was a little happier about my decision. Some things that aren’t Atlas you have to get creative how you mount them (add a zip tie to help stabilize a bigger pouch with one clip), but for the most part they slide on easy. The bigger Atlas pouches have two attachment points. The Diamondbacks are nice too. It’s hard to find anything that works 100% of the time but we just have to all try and find what works best for us. Thanks for watching and sharing what you use! 👍
