I guess i take living in Florida for granted too often. I rarely have to make brake lines. I see the northern guys do it quite often, and i definitely don't envy them. With that said, yeah, that first tool sucks!

That’s part of it. I also just end up with others peoples hacked up projects all the time. For fuel I’m honestly more of an AN line guy.

And why would you ever cinch it ina vise? I've been building brake lines for years and never had any issue with the basic tool, my tool is older than you and me and is a little loose in the hips and still works perfect,it justmakes no sense to call a tool trash because you can't use it properly

My friend, if you wanna come use that same tool with steel line with it just in your hands. I’ll hand you a crisp $100 bill. With the steel bar bending struggling to get it down good luck. I’ll film you doing it and hand you the $100 bill on camera. It’s in the vice with the nicopp line so I’m not moving it all over the place and everybody can see what happening.

No offense my guy but you are fumbling how to do this with the tool, you are supposed to twist the flaring part all the way to the right, if it hits the edges it centers itself
@CatfishMotorsports4 ай бұрын
I said that. I said even though it went down crooked the adapter still flattened and centered itself in the end. It still made a worse flare than the other tool. It’s still a worse tool than the one I liked. And it’s a pain in the ass to do with the steel if you wanted to do steel. I stand by what I said. You can get the job done with the OEM tool. But the other one is better.

@@CatfishMotorsports I guess what I'm saying is,instead of trying to center the tool in the start with spacing,twist it clockwise so it mechanically centers itself,then lightly tighten and let the cone center itself then start tightening down, I will see If I have some steel brake line sitting around still, If I do I will post a video and send you a link thi upcoming week, I have tons of ni cop but I don't know if I have any steel anymore, I do like the channel so far,keep it up

That won’t work entirely with this one. If you watch the whole video, there is a place where you can see the anvil? Idk what to call it, the pointed piece wobbles on its axis as it spins down. There is no way for it to center itself because the whole tool isn’t straight. I’m sure it’s not supposed to be like that, and if you have an old made in USA one it’s probably better. But like I said in the video, the cheap version of that type of tool suffers from quality issues.
