LOVE IT!!! In my humble opinion: 1. Hammer fists can be EXTREMELY devastating! I saw a guy during training, by accident, cut open another guys eye lid. 2. Most bad guys won't be expecting a hammerfist 3. Great for smaller people/women for self defense because of the damage that can be done 4. These strikes can also be used on any target....liver, spleen, behind the knee....just a great way to strike! Great training...great vid as always Much respect!!! OSA!!!

I was thinking to write exactly the same thing! Body mechanic is more important than thé technique. There is no technique without good body mechanic. But very litlle number of people really practice for that, people doing the show are everywhere. But serious martial artists... Nice to find this Chanel. I see kali in your body right ?

Excellent work as always brother. A suggestion for you that might help especially in the case of hammer fist done in close clinch scenario . Lots of people struggle with generating great power from short distance and the close proximity. I suggest to them imagine if you were slashing the target point in the close clinch with a knifes sharpest edge and bingo they do the movement you tried to explain to someone in the video. Just a suggestion which I hope will be helpful. I've been teaching what is commonly called urban combat for nearly 2 decades but I only called it CQC or preemptive self defence and largely got side lined by traditional artists whom in UK are very arrogant and cultish in their opinions and behaviour. Only if I knew about Lee Morrison few years ago.🙏

The passion this man has is what every instruction should bring to their students. He is the real deal!!! He want's You to survive an attack on the street and if need be destroy your attacker so they chose another field of endeavor. Like working for a living. In America we are facing the highest level of street crime in half a century due to weak politicians, liberal and political prosecutors.

Hammer fist is fantastic for street fights, because one of the arguably most common things I've seen is people really messing their hands up on skulls/elbows/etc...other than that the energy usage and situational nature is better invested in basic punches unless you're already experienced and looking to add variance/set up.

Very good concepts! I have a question about combat sports. The techniques that the practioners learn in heavy contact combat sports (like MMA, Judo, BJJ, Muay Thai etc) are transferable in self defense (or at least a part of them)? Thank you for your time.
@schoolofselfprotection3 жыл бұрын
The gross motor skills should be the one that comes out! If trained good enough. And if you can keep your head right! Depends all on the one doing it! Fine and complex motor skills deteriorate under real right stress and real aggression.

Why you don't try in mma? If it's more effective that traditional fist you will become incredible rich and famous Maybe it works good but until you do with people that not really want to hurt you can't be sure.
@schoolofselfprotection3 жыл бұрын
Been there. Done that. This is for the street event! You cannot compare sport to real violence! That’s ridiculous!
@matmiami79473 жыл бұрын
@@schoolofselfprotection I agree with you, those are 2 different things even if the majority of the time that I saw an mma fighter or a professional bocer fighter on the street In my experience they always have a huge vantage over the regular people. Iby the way its very difficult to reproduce the street in a gym because the people that workout with you don't want to hurt you bad and you know that inside, for my personal experience the mind set is changing a lot and even your moves are change a lot when you are worki out with friends. Full combat sport are maybe less close to the street for something but the fight is real, especially if you do without protection.
@schoolofselfprotection3 жыл бұрын
Correct. They have an advantage IF they can keep their head right. Look at the chaos after Connor and khabibs fight…2 best fighters in the world…when real intent and aggression came in to play all their technics were gone! Chaos! No perfect technicsa anymore. If you don’t train for multiples and weapons with the right mindset and gross motor skills you are not training for the street..
@matmiami79473 жыл бұрын
@@schoolofselfprotection I agree, makes sense what you say. For my opinion you are a person that had trained also in mma or other full contact sports and this make you more complete. A regular guy that never had a real sparring with someone in front that really want to hurt you can't get enough experience just doing those kind of simulation because you can set up everything as much realistic as you want but you always know inside that they not gonna hurt you for real, when you sparring hatd you develope the right mind set , the distance, the timing and also you learn how to manage pain, tension and even fear. Best thing could do if you can do both....
@schoolofselfprotection3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Been in competition. But the real event/street is my job. Doormen and intervention team member is my profession. Sparring is great! But not real violence..you explained it well in my book!
