The musical nuances of Tool are lost on me. This guy I know is all into drums and horns and I was hanging out with him and playing some of my kind of music and I put on this album so's he could hear a band that doesn't march. He was trying to transcribe the music on one of these songs and he said the time signature was 9/16 and this Tool guy was either a genius or a moron. Now me, I can tell a 9/16 socket from a 1/2 just by lookin at it but I don't know 9/16 from 4/4 in music, I gotta take his word for it. My take on the music is, "man that rock song is kickass man that dude is makin some badass awesome sounds come out of that guitar". Look at that bit that starts at 6:45, that is some major league skill and musicianship and rhythm on display there. If I was imagining that I had that superpower Bill and Ted got where they could play air guitar and make whatever sound they were thinkin of come out, I still couldn't play that part right.
