Maynard James Keenan was good friends with a comedian named Bill Hicks, who died of pancreatic cancer at the ripe old age of 32. Aenema was inspired by Hicks' comedy bit about how stupid and fake Los Angeles/Hollywood is, and how he couldn't wait for a major earthquake to cause LA to crumble into the ocean.
