It’s not YOUR vote that is in question. It’s the legality of having identical rules for absentee voting as there are for in person voting. The concept of removing all absentee ballots has never been proposed by ANY Republican. The issue is ILLEGAL absentee ballots being counted. The distinction is in the legal vs. illegal vote.

Term limits are a dumb idea. Here’s why: voters need to pay more attention to the candidates running for office, not less. And when we are fortunate enough to find an individual that actually represents us well, we need the freedom to keep them on the job and working for us as long as possible, because they are few and far between. Having term limits to oust the bad ones costs us the good ones as well. Better in the long run to simply vote out the bad candidates, who work more for themselves than for “We, the People”.

the problem is that this has been a problem for years now, the senate barely gets anything done because of the filibuster and that needs to change. now will it always be a good thing- hard to say, but its better than the lack of movement on policy thats been happening the last 20 years or more. plus we have to put in protection because local government are frequently run by people who only care about themselves, we have all seen it companies doing road work and yet the roads seem to degrade so fast that with in 5 years it needs to be done again, instead of putting the money into building roads that are able to take a lot of punishment, cheap and poorly patched roads when utility work is done, all done by local government and frequently farmed out to limited liability companies owned by their friends, who pay them off. we need to put limits and we need to put in safe guards so these kinds of things won't happen. and these people want to keep their power so they want to rig the system to get them reelected as easily as possible. because thats were they make all their money at our expense, we need to fix the system because nothing is static things must be updated and changed or they die.

We are a failing democracy because of 1) the electoral college 2) plurality voting 3) the Senate. Solutions: 1) remove it 2) replace it with rank choice or approval voting 3) change it; give statehood to DC and PR; end the filibuster. Not easy, but this is “the hole in the roof”. If you care about peoples rights to vote, if you force them to have ID, 11% won't be able to vote. Other nations don't really have that issue... So you effectively discourage 11% of your population from voting. (some may think that's a good thing ... I don't know) You may not care for certain people in your society, but if you want to be fair, you should make it easier for these people to vote... not harder. In Australia, no ID is needed. The whole of Australia... In Canada .. ballots are sent by mail and then taken in to a ballot center and you need ID. But you can present just a health card if you want (you know .. that free health care!!) and you can vote. Everyone has a health care card in Canada, it's sent free, so there is never issues with ID. Mexico issues a free ID card or electoral card to anyone over 18, so everyone can vote. (India does the same thing) In UK (Northern Ireland) photographic identification is mandatory. A voter ID trial was held in the UK for the 2018 elections. Voters in 5 local authorities in England (Bromley, Gosport, Swindon, Watford and Woking) were required to show ID before voting. The legal basis for the trial has been contested. *In looking in to this though, most places in the world you are required to have ID.* So maybe the answer for the USA is free health care ... and ID cards to vote. :) You make a good point though. It would help with election integrity and just makes common sense to ID people.

This segment has overlooked the elephant in the room, the Senate system, where each state regardless of its population gets two senators. This stabs at the heart of democracy where each person counts the same. To fix this, each senator's vote should be weighted in proportion to the population of his/her state.

Hands up here. I'm Irish. In our National Elections, we have a far higher turnout than you do in the US. We don't have any Early voting and very little postal voting. We also don't see any hours long queues on Election day. Virtually every school becomes a polling station (voting place). So I can't understand why in the US, in county after county, people MUST travel for miles and queue for hours to exercise what is a Constitutional RIGHT? Why? Is the US that inefficient?
