At 2:05 when he opens the door to get the dust bins out it looks like there is some dust that escaped and went out onto the right side of the door. Is that what it looks like to all of you? Does anyone know if that door is sealed when it is shut thus keeping that from going out into the room? I wonder if the Harvey has "full unit HEPA certification" the same way Festool and some other vacuums have. I have seen certain Onieda dust collectors that claim full unit HEPA certification. In fact one of them actually gives you the certificate in case you are asked to prove it at a job site to OSHA.

Who pushed it in to the wall and dented it?

Curious why the CFM is much lower than the standard cycle style units. You still have to pull the dust from various machines to the DC. I think the 3HP Oneida/Clearvue/Lagunas pull 1600+ CFM, (~50% more than this one) at about half the cost. This unit looks great, but I feel you are paying more for less?

Exciting stuff, even if far outside the price range of all but a few hobby woodworkers. As any who've looked into serious dust collection know, the amount of air you can move is as critical to how effective your system can remove fines as is the actual micron level of the filters. I have two three horse filters that use two bags and cartridges or four bags. Running free, they move a lot of air. However, when you bottle neck them down with four inch hoses or run them through cyclones or other separators, their cubic feet per minute [CFM] numbers drop very quickly. This suggest there may be hope for future systems on the market that have booster turbines in the separators so that they don't rob valuable CFM. It may be someone will come up with a motor driven turbine/fan running on the outer perimeter of a cyclone, protected from large debris by screen, to ramp up the spin and subsequent drop of particles.

Great video as always. This system doesn’t address many of the common issues with dust collection, bags and filters. And it looks like the filters are only 5 micron which means it may not clean better than a cyclone system.

Am curious which issues you are referring to since I am new to woodworking and have never owned a dust collector. The filters are HEPA filters (MERV 17) - I wonder if you you might have mistaken the following "...... air emission cleanliness level from the filters can reach an unbeatable 0.05 mg/cubic meter (50% better than the European Standard of 0.1 mg/cubic meter"

Interesting but irrelevant for the Home woodworker. At that price it costs more than all the equipment in my workshop.

Or buy directly from Harvey for half the price. Normally like Rockler , over priced but good but in this case what a rip off.
