I think it's called cushion fit. Saw a Japanese cabinet maker make a desk with three drawers on the side. He pulled out one drawer then pushed it back in. When he pushed it in, the tolerances were so close, the other drawers opened. Same concept.

I like that you make your tools work for you. The efficiency gained is worth the resources invested. I received so much negativity when I would (try to) do this at my work. I am glad to read all the people who understand and encourage this.

Tell me about it. I worked with a 25 year old Mecal terminal press for years at my old job, and when I had serious ideas for upgrades and things that would make my work a ton easier they were always shot down and called unnecessary (i.e. ''too expensive'', even when we had all the materials ourselves). Now at my new job they don't question stuff like that. If it makes work go smoother, go ahead and order whatever you need once you got it all worked out. Basically got a blank check for those kind of expenses.

This reminds me of watching my Dad use his 7" Myford lathe, early to mid 70's. Along with a drill press, and a grinder, he built a functioning steam locomotive. Now I work with 10 metre long lathes, building aircraft landing gear. Nice video. I will subscribe.

Ich schwenke den Oberschlitten immer nach vorne und lasse die Spindel Rückwärts laufen. Verwende einen Drehstahl für Innenbearbeitung. Ist sehr viel angenehmer zum arbeiten weil man sich nicht so über die Maschine beugen muss und bei sehr stumpfen Winkeln gibt es fast keine andere Lösung. Arbeite seit 30 Jahren auf Schaublin 150. Deine Videos sind Super! Junge, Du kannst was!
