I use mine on generators and fire pumps. I run the engine first and then pull the oil out of it. It works great, I've had it for 6 months now.

I have one used twice for oil changes. The rubber connectors that attach the hoses have hardened and leak. The kit to repair is the two rubber pieces and the 3 sections of hose for $25-40. I paid less than $100 for the entire pump. I am looking at better ways to repair. Good product while it lasted, but they get you on repair parts.

Works great on my 4 runner. The 2012 Sonata has a crankcase baffle that keeps hose from the pan bottom. Awesome for lawn equipment. Longer tubing from hdwr store for cars.

I would still use it for a transmission fluid change. Just by being able to pull out 2 to 5 quarts you would make the job much cleaner and quicker by spilling very little fluid, if any, when you drop the pan. Differentials (with a single plug) and power steering pumps (flushing prior to an R&R) would be a great use too! Cool tool and demo!!

Will it work if you line the container with trash bag? That way it would be easier to use between filling and draining things or using different fluids.

I have 2 of the 4 uncle cheaper Amazon versions, both pump or forced air, 2 of the green harbor freight air ones, 2 of each in my front shop and my back shop, I'm picking 2 MV4201 plus up today for my mobile van, guy is going EV, and doesn't need em anymore, so great price on both, under 60 for both, I like the feature of push oil or extracting it just by a push of a button, I got 2 of them because one is going to be dedicated for filling oil, and one for extracting oil. Great video as always.

Great video as usual. I had my eyes on this mity vac for a while now and everyone says that gas is not accepted by this device because it damages it or something similar which is weird because the same company makes the orange siphon pump that is known to be used and made for gas I just don't see the difference in materials were the more expensive evacuator is some how "allergic" to gas and it's $3 to $10 brother is not. the evac seems to be made stronger so that is why i am confused on gas use.

These evaluaters are really good for for chipper vacs since they're a little bit too heavy to flip over. And if you're chipper vac old enough to have drain plug in the bottom of the engine after remove quite a bit to get to it.

How do you clean the reservoir? Can you open it or do you use a solvent? If so what solvent?
@karpenterken14 жыл бұрын
It's plastic. You'll destroy it with solvents and it's not meant to be opened up even though the top cap can come off with a #2 Phillips and 8mm wrench for the nuts. I would not recommend using the same unit for removing fluids and dispensing fluids. Too much trouble to remove all of the hardware to open and also a waste of time and money to clean out. Mityvac says it can only handle oils, brake fluid and coolant. Anything else including gasoline will damage it (plastic parts and rubber seals) and they won't warranty it.

Hey Dony! i’ve been thinking about purchasing a MITYVAC extractor and I was wondering how your experience has been with the unit since you purchased it. I’ve been reading that there is some problem with the seals to fail after a while which causes the unit to spray oil all over. I read these reviews on Amazon. Thanks for your help!
@donyboy734 жыл бұрын
well this one in video lasted 8 years before it did that so i replaced it with a new one, i'm happy with it. don't use it to extract gas it may harm the seals prematurely

if your oil filter is bottom side, what's the point?
@infinitesum6 жыл бұрын
It works for some European cars that have the filter on the top so there is no need to lift the car at all. This saves a ton of time and its much cleaner using this device. No mess. I bought one and can't wait to use it and skip the dealer huge bills for this work.
@dropinota6 жыл бұрын
There would be no point in that case, but at my shop we use things like that for most German cars that have the filter up top and a skid plate on bottom.
@karpenterken14 жыл бұрын
It's another option if you want to remove most of the oil topside without a possible mess dealing with a full drain pan and transferring it out of the drain pan. You should still go underneath to remove the drain bolt and any remainder in the pain, which will be much easier to deal with at that point.
