If you want really good figs you need to grow them yourself. It’s a rabbit hole for sure with all the different cultivars. But as an avid figster I certainly recommend starting a fig tree orchard. It’s a very rewarding experience eating fresh perfectly ripe figs! :)

Good morning and thank you !! My name is Ron , a few years ago I was thumbing through KZbin posts, and I happened to land on a video by ScoutCrafter . You were making old tools look new again! Well to say I was hooked is an understatement! I started refurbishing old tools and because of you the time in my shop brought much joy. This past year I was diagnosed with terminal liver disease and now i can't be in my shop as much as I would like because i am getting weaker. But none the less I can't hardly wait for Monday, Wed, and Friday so I can watch your videos! Thank you for being there and for sharing your time with us all. You have certainly made a very positive impact on my life. Thank you for the fun times and may God bless you in all you do!! Ron Blair

Cool little tool show Scout! That bell is gonna be a real eye catcher when you get a shine on the brass! Saw a couple jacks there on the tables that I would have had to check out. Counter bores are essential to have around to me. I like the kind that has the removable pilot centers so you can either make your own, or just swap them out depending on what size you need. Tire gauge was pretty neat and hard to believe it still works, complete with leather sheath. Great video as always!

I'm waiting to see how nicely that bell turns out after a SC restoration. The Schrader tire gauge is in perfect condition and would be a great complement to someone with a vintage car. I have a brass Schrader gauge, but it appears to be stuck. The info on using mill bits for drilling/boring is useful. Notice that the mill bit doesnt wobble in the chuck like a high speed drill bit would be prone to do. Thanks.

Lots of good stuff here! Thanks John. Spade bits work well for counter bored holes in wood. Spade bit the counterbore first, follow up with clearance drill in the center of the counterbore marked by the spade bit point.

Thanks for taking us with you to the tool meet John, there was some great stuff there, love the old tool boxes and machinists chests, they command high prices online ! Did I spot some Stanley 100 plus bolstered Screwdrivers there ? I'd have been after those and also that No.&1 Router plane, they've become very popular again and have gone up tremendously in value in recent years. The parking sign, came out great, I love the smell of those old finishes, brings back many happy memories, I came across some Simoniz compound in my Dads garage as I was clearing, almost used up and dried up and crumbling, but it still had that evocative smell !

Great video 👍 That tool show Video you showed us was fantastic. Looks like they had some awesome deals there. That $1.00 bin look like it had some hidden treasures 🪛🔧. Looks like the one table I believe Mikes had two nice Yellow &black Stanley screwdrivers 🪛. That Stanley #71 router looked awesome, so did that old carpenters 🔨 wooden toolbox, fantastic! That no parking sign you got cleaned up and polished nicely, great job👍. That brass bell 🛎 is going to be a great project for the show, can’t wait to see . Good information & demonstration on counterbores& transfer punches. I will have to look for some on Amazon. That does look like a great pry bar and not to much money👍. That is a cool old glass paper 📄 weight . Another great shot of Old Glory 🇺🇸 flying in that cool night sky 🌌. Well again great video and can’t wait to see what you do on Wednesday. 😄👍👍

There was some cool stuff at the show that I would have put money on. Those safety gas cans are the bees knees. I have plastic ones floating but I don't use. I have a couple of the old air gauges if I could remember where I put them. Wood tool box was nice and went for a great price. Mostly they go higher for home decor. I am restoring a couple. If I was selling and someone wasn't buying for tools, then I would sell for home decor. Why, because it will stay in good shape inside for the next 5-10 years.

I picked up a beautiful set of Channellock Meadville PA USA 437 pliers at the Quakertown PA flea market this weekend. They are in beautiful condition and polished up nice. There is no patent # or Champion/Dearment markings either. Plain steel, smooth handles and no blue rubber. Any idea when these were made? I’m thinking 60’s or 70’s? 🤷‍♂️

@@ScoutCrafter Small world! That's fantastic! I got to know Graziano more than Marciano. My dad introduced me to Tommy Barbella ... I was confused as a kid because I new the guy was Rocky Graziano. Then my dad explained his fighting name vs his real name. Rocky would show up at a park on Grand Sreet in Brooklyn every once in awhile! MarciAno wasn't around as much when I was a kid, I think he lived in Florida at the time.but he hung around in NY now and then. I had an aunt and uncle that raced trotters at Roosevelt, Saratoga and in FL. They knew him too! Your dad had to be a heck of a fighter to step in the ring with Rocky. My dad fought light heavyweight at 178 lbs. Rocky woulda hurt him! My dad taught me how to box, I had a hard right and i was fast, but I never got into it seriously! I wish I had kept my gloves! I left them in Westbury when I moved out after I got married. I have no idea where they ended up! You must have some cool stories! Was your dad also John?

Small world John. I just bought that same bell in similar condition at an estate sale two weeks ago. Does yours have a makers mark? Mine is a Bevin, which was manufactured in the town I live in (East Hampton, CT). I started my restoration and it's going to take a whole lotta polishing. Be careful with the nut that holds the bell onto the frame. Mine is not threaded. It's actually attached to a stud that was pressed in. I found out the hard what after spinning a wrench on it without it backing out.
