@@gustavolara7953 Mostly playing some parts an octave higher, I also thought the bass walked up during the verses, with the guitar in some way....could never quite get it to sound right. It isn't something I ever played out so I didn't embarrass myself too much.

@@85geoffm I couldn't quite get the sound to be punchy but not farty. I was pretty young and had some basic equipment. That is why I stayed away from the low D. Back when it came out we just had to play it by ear and I missedall sorts of subtleties on lots of songs.

First off, let me say this - Great cover! Secondly, I rarely use a pick, and one of the times I do use one is when i'm practicing this song. I just cant seem to get my hand moving fast enough to hit all of the notes at the correct time. Do you have any tips for playing with a pick after the 4:35 mark until the outro comes along?

Start slow with a low bpm and once you can play for eg. 16th notes in that tempo, crank up 10 bpm up. If that's too much you can always crank up less bpm.

What I find confusing with how the main riff is played, is that your playing hand seems to be in one continuous strumming motion back and forth, even during the 16th rests in between the played and muted notes. When I play the riff, there's a pause in my right hand's movement on those rests before I returned to strumming again. I've seen Paul D'amour perform the song that same way that you do, so I'm wondering what is so different with the way I play it that my strumming hand seems to be in a different motion to yours...
@CoverSolutions9 жыл бұрын
Tim Rees Using constant motion for strumming is very important in order to keep a good, consistent rhythm. Otherwise your movement look more robotic and hard to maintain at higher speed. I recommend trying to always keep an un and down movement in your hand, even if it's not entirely needed
@thpriest159 жыл бұрын
CoverSolutions Okay, I will try that. You're right; I am having difficulty maintaining a good rhythm and tempo. Thank you for the advice!
