Janissary What’s your problem? Y’know, I’m sick of people considering the members of Tool “gods”. It’s absolutely ridiculous and they are in no way notably fantastic. I guarantee many modern drummers can do the exact same thing with ease, they just choose not to because it does not fit their musical style. Hell, I’ve been playing drums for a little over a year and I can play almost all Tool with just a little bit of practice time.
@jesterlibre12747 жыл бұрын
Janissary And why is that? Because I don't choose to worship a band because they make unique music? Because they intentially change the time signatures in order to make the band seem out of the ordinary? You don't get famous from being good, you get famous from being iconic.
@Nuhuhuhuhu6 жыл бұрын
Yeah buddy, you could play all Tool songs with a little bit of practice time.. Good for you champ! But if you actually practiced and listened to how it goes, you would know that you were as far off as you could be. I'm not talking Tool here, but you being full of it! You have no idea clearly what music theory for drums is, and you think that you can play things, because you think the shit you play sound right. Which it doesn't, which you would learn if you practiced, which you clearly don't, 'cause if you already think you're good after 1 year, you're never getting anywhere!

@OwenMcKinley7 жыл бұрын
I separated each limb and isolated the patterns before brining them together. Right hand, then Left hand, then Right foot, then Left foot. I'm sure there is a better way, but for me this is what was most efficient. It simply took practice; there was no "easy" way to do it. Hope that is helpful advice!

You need a hug. But since you pride yourself for being a smartass, let's dissect the textbook definition of *music* ; "Vocal or instrumental sounds (or both) combined in such a way as to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion." That doesn't literally translate to, "You *need* to have multiple instruments to create music." All you need to do is harmonize sounds into a melody. A cymbal has its own sound. A tom has its own sound. etc... Combine them together and construct a melody with them and you have music. But the most important line is the "expression of emotion." Which is something you seem to have undermined. If you can make music through sheer vocals, then it's also possible through drums alone. As long as you have the secret ingredient, emotion. In conclusion, suh muh dick.
