Bruh, your intial 4 beat head bang into pause starting at 8:39 is 100% legit...the vibe is too much. You know you are one w the music at that point. One of my favorite snippets of the song.

In case you didn't know, Steve Vai is a shred/prog guitar legend, and him being on the throne then being back to back with Scottie and Tim is, like, an acceptance into his echelon of playing. The way this was filmed, on top of the incredible performance by EVERYONE (bassist and drummer don't get enough credit!), made me tear up. Vai is a guitar legend. Check out Tender Surrender, Bad Horse, or For The Love of God!

Couldn't agree more, the Clays dont get enough credit, and the fact that Steve Vai was excited and honored to be in a polyphia track says a lot!!!

art, at it’s finest no doubt, the guys in Polyphia genre-bend beyond any physical or emotional reach with their intricacies when it comes to arpeggiated notes and odd time signatures, and getting the G himself Steve Vai on this track will further immortalize it in eons to come, Polyphia have cemented their legacy for sure🤘🏻🔥🔥🔥🔥

10:18 Made me tear up....Seeing Scott,Tim, and Steve all back to back to back with each of the parts layered on top of one another, creating the most sensual sound, I done ever received through My ear canals in a VERY long time. All i had to say was "Gawdamn..."
@matthieusavary9832 жыл бұрын
This track is absolutely perfect. Even better than Playing God. It's fun how Polyphia gave us a little candy with a pop song (ABC), just like they tried to lower our expectations, and then they kill everything with this diamond-cut composition. Love how, on the clip, they start in a white room, then go higher in the building to end on the roof, with Steve on the throne. They finish free, in the air, in front of the sunset, with this clean trumpet vibes in the end... God, even the clip is so clear !
@ProudFilthyCasual Жыл бұрын
I also don't see it mentioned enough how they start with bright and attention grabbing clothing and are in the center shots, they take turns on the throne (Scott and Tim), then on the roof, they are all together, wearing black and essentially taking a backseat to Steve.....and ego death as they become the backing band, if you will.

little insight on the 'perfection' vibe. They play to a click live, a metronome in ear, so a lot of Tim Henson's production is timed out perfectly to fit a live performance.

Fun fact that most people missed, both Tim and Scott also sat on the same throne/chair as Steve earlier in the video, but Steve's entrance is the only scene that made the throne prominent.

Going to see Steve Vai AGAIN on Oct 15th in Macon, Ga... been in love with his style since his DLR and the movie "Crossroads" days! One of the few artists I will go see until one of us takes our last breath! In the end of the video they see Vai as the last level, he is the precursor to their style, but the reason why we see the trumpet guy from Brasstracks in the same level as Vai and after him, it's because his genre and his style are the oldest ones and the precursor to all of them in terms of music. Rock and roll came from African beats, jazz and such. They were presenting their respects to the music in general. Masterful and inspiring! That trumpet section gives me the chills and it's such a beautiful thing that they put it there. There are sections in this song that have made me shed some tears. Badass instrumental music!

Whats even cooler is that every 30 seconds on the dot is a whole different song, this shit is like their whole album put into one song. Like 10 songs in 1! And also Tim on the throne at the bottom of the building, then Scottie on the middle floor and then the guitar god on a throne on the roof is so sick. Polyphia: fit an impossible amount of clean and tasteful notes into time and space. Steve Vai: warps time and space. Both super impressive from a virtuosity standpoint and my jaw was dropped the whole time. But Steve’s intro is what really broke my brain. How do you write something like that?
