Hey Whirly, I just bought one of these as a part of an rc controller bundle, so im new to batteries and I understand that theres a big enphasis on battery safety and handling batteries. Where can I learn more about battries and also do I need a p200 for the charger or can I get something else? Im just completely new to batteries and to be honest dont know much about them other than you have to handle them with care and the right way, otherwise you might have a disaster.
@WhirlyBloke Жыл бұрын
First off, I want to apologize for the long delay in replying - for some reason I didn't get notified and it was buried deep and unanswered in my comments stack. I appreciate your interest in the ToolkitRC M7 and to learn about battery safety. It's great that you're taking precautions and seeking information on how to handle batteries properly. To learn more about batteries, I recommend starting with some basic online resources and tutorials. Websites like Battery University batteryuniversity.com/ and RC forums often have valuable information on battery types, charging methods, and safety precautions. You can also check out KZbin channels dedicated to RC hobbyists, as they often provide insightful tips and guides on battery handling. Regarding your question about the charger, the ToolkitRC M7 charger is indeed a popular choice among RC enthusiasts. However, you don't necessarily need a P200 for charging batteries. There are other compatible chargers available on the market that can also handle your battery charging needs. It's important to consider factors like the battery chemistry, voltage, and capacity to ensure compatibility with the charger you choose. Remember, as a beginner, it's crucial to read and understand the manufacturer's instructions for both the charger and the batteries you're using. Always prioritize safety, follow proper charging procedures, and never leave charging batteries unattended. Feel free to reach out if you have any further questions, and once again, I apologize for the delay in getting back to you. Happy flying and enjoy your new RC controller bundle!

It depends on the battery. If it's a 4Ah Lipo that'd be fine, but if it's 300mAh battery you'll kill it after a couple of charges. I only ever charge at a maximum of 1C - that's 1 x the Ah capacity of the battery. That'll keep your battery happy and get you the most most charge cycles.

Hi can i use a full 6s lipo to power this and charge say a 4s lipo? If so would be handy to recycle the power and discharge a lipo by charging another. Thanks
@WhirlyBloke11 ай бұрын
The power input voltage is 7.0-28.0V so, yes, you can use a 6S Lipo to power it and that's a great idea. But take care you don't over discharge it below about 19.8v and damage it. You can configure the input power min voltage on most ToolkitRC chargers, so you could use that so it cuts off at say 20V.

Is it very different from M6 v2 in terms of functionality and convenience? Should to change M6 V2 to M7 (power of M6 150W is enough ) ? Does the fan turn on at 40C, as in the M6, and is the same noisy?

Same functionality as the M6 but the UI is different so things have just been moved in the screens. The fan comes on at a pre determined temperature that you can change in the options screen.

Thanks for watching and commenting on the video. The error message about the input voltage being too high might be related to the charger's settings or connections. how do i charge a 2s 7.4v lipo that only has a balance port as power output "no xt30 or xt60" eg my helicopter balance plug also acts as power port..M7 version 2.00 keeps saying low power when i plug lipo in..
@WhirlyBloke Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and reaching out with your question. I can understand your frustration with the low power message on your charger. In order to charge a 2S 7.4V LiPo that only has a balance port for power output, you can try using an adapter cable. You'll need a balance-to-XT30/XT60 adapter cable, which will allow you to connect the balance port of your LiPo to the charger's power port. FuriousFPV make one, but they are easy make yourself. Solder the positive wire from the male balance connector to the positive (+) pin of the female XT60 connector. Similarly, solder the negative wire to the negative (-) pin. That's it! You should now have a balance-to-XT60 adapter cable that you can use to charge your 2S 7.4V LiPo battery a balance charger. Remember to always follow proper safety precautions when working with LiPo batteries and soldering equipment. I hope this helps!
