First Thanks for all the information, I remember seeing these at a store but I never knew what you can use them for. Someone in Texas use of these off of his Ford truck to run the heater in the house during the state outage, people were actually freezing to death in their homes.

I had a jump starter pack that had an inverter installed piggyback. Back in 2006 we got hit with a severe storm and lost power for a couple of days. I took an electric fan to the living room and the wife says "You know that won't work right?" and I turned it on and she goes "How much dork gear do you have?"

Hi Tim. We just upgraded our electrical to 200 AMP and put in an interlock (50 A) so that we can power our home with a gas (or multifuel) generator in an outage. My HVAC guy said we have to get a generator that runs at a constant 60Hz or the furnace will show an error code and not run. I was told that an inverter generator is best for keeping the Hz constant. I am considering a Westinghouse ecoGen10000 Inverter Generator with CO Sensor, and wondered if you thought that was a good option, as it has less than 3% total harmonic distortion. House is about 2000 square feet and has high efficiency gas furnace. Thanks much, and thanks for your videos!

Yes at 3% thd that’s as good as household power so you are making a good choice

Get a soft start installed if you have central heating/AC.

I have two battery powered inverters and I have three generators. I have one traditional style generator I converted so I can run gas propane or natural gas. Then I have two of the 3500 W inverter generators. I’ll use the big one during the day and then I use the other ones at night since they’re quiet, then the battery inverters that hook to the vehicle are just an extra back up. You can’t have too many back ups because something fails why everything shut down you’ll be left in the dark.

Folks should allready have a generator by now, better get prepared for the worst possible scenario because it’s coming fast and having a vehicle inverter is just really smart 😊😊😊😊
