Hi Mailey ! Thank you for this series! It's great to have a such a channel that explains these things clairly. I love DIYs but I never know what tools I should have or how to build what I'm imagining. I've tried some of your DIYs already and I'm looking forward to learning more! And I congratulate you for your partnership with Kreg!

I’m an experienced DIYer and grew up around tools since my dad is a builder. This video stands above others as you make all the important points. I love your including the sewing machine and this being the channel where they meet! One tiny point about jigsaws: make sure you get RECIPROCATING jigsaw. They are slightly more expensive but allow for far more accurate cuts. One last thought: you are on your way 💕 I’ve been a longtime fan and it’s always amazed me your channel isn’t bigger. Thank you, Kreg for putting my girl out there!

Oh that's such a good point I need to check if my is reciprocating I think it is. and you know me I always gotta bring my sewing machine in when I can! 🥰 Thanks sooo much for watching and all the support it really means so much to me! 🥰

Yah. - FIRST, FIRST, FIRST!!!! I am so excited. I do some DIY but have never learnt from anyone. I want to know the right way to do things. Thank you so much for doing this episode. straight cuts - yahhhhh!!! I can honestly say - I HAVE EVERY TOOL that you have spoken about today. Do I use them all???? NO - this is why I want to learn. My most recent tool was the electric staple/nail gun. I used the staples for reupholstering my sofa, but I have not used the nail gun yet.

Congrats on the collaboration with Kreg. That's exciting and well deserved. A great roundup. I've had a jigsaw for maybe 10 years but have never used it. That's because in my head I would! It was actually the work anniversary gift I picked from a catalog! I also have a drill, a staple gun, and a sewing machine. I'm happy that I know how to sew. I want to make a privacy wall for my screened porch. Ask me in a year if I actually made it. Thanks, Mailey.

@@MaileyElaine I'm just so lazy! But my time has finally freed up. In August 2022, I retired and my mom died (the one from Appleton). And one of my sisters was diagnosed with oral cancer in October 2022. So between settling my mom's estate and helping my sister through her ordeal, I finally feel ready to discover my new normal. I can't crawl around on the floor because of knee replacements but I should be able to do a lot of things! Regarding the tools, I do have a suggestion. I would have liked to see more detail about each one. Like the different blades for jig saws and what to look for in a nailer (gauge of nails, etc.). It was good that you included what you used them for!

Love it! My fiance started working as a construcion worker (idk if this is what its called in English) last year and have over the past year collected alot of tools, and I have been thinking about investing in a sewing machine🥰 Using this video too convice him that a sewing machine can be counted as one of our power tools😂 I am on the hunt now!🤗 Love your channel, keep up the good work❤ Much love from a 26 year old girl in Norway🥰

I work at Home Depot. I tell DIYers that Ryobi-the cheap tools-are just fine. The contractors should move up to DeWalt/Milwaukee/Makita (and ridgid is somewhere in the middle). But for the table saw, I have a Ridgid because I heard it was slightly better (and didn’t have to worry about battery compatibility). I’m not sure what other “cheaper” brands are at big box stores but ask. Most employees will be honest if it’s worth it for a DIYer.
@MaileyElaine7 ай бұрын
exactly I hear great things about Ryobi! Some other brands that I've heard is Craftsman I have some of their stuff. Also Flex, black and decker and Bosch

@@MaileyElaine It is a Kenmore model 1422 Zig Zag sewing machine. Late 60’s or 70’s I think. Has its own cabinet. I bought it off someone selling it at work a few yrs ago.

@@MaileyElaine it’s really cool. And I have the manual. I just need to read it. I can’t find how old it is. Once I find the serial number, that might help determine if it’s 50’s, 60’s or 70’s.
