I own 4 plug-in Makita routers, massive fan. I've had the guide rail attachment for 20 years but the big routers are too top heavy, dangerous. Up-cut router bits are a must. Good video. I like and share your vids because I'd love for you to expand and show us the best head-to-head comparisons from all the brands. Keep it up.

I would do more head to heads if I had more money. Got a big one coming at the end of this month.

Great video tools. I have the lxt model. One thing I wish they come with as a clear square acrylic base to make it easier to see what your doing. I know that there after market ones available such as the rockler ones that carbtech sell but they are expensive when your on a tight budget.

Makita have had a clear base for years. The newest 18v budget model I speak of in this video also comes with a clear base, and my previous AC model also had a clear base.

Everyone wants to see the makita 1/2 inch against the new dewault 1/2 inch router
@AkosLukacs424 ай бұрын
Ah, you did that a minute later, never mind :) 👍 For runtime - I know would be more work to make it equal - actual routing would be better I guess. OK, pushing at the same feed rate could be a hassle...

No load runtime will come down to who has the largest cooling fan. Better test would be how many metres it can route

Except for all the complaints about different pieces of wood, start stop times, "You were pushing the makita faster", "the one on the left was running at a different speed / is fake / has a different bit / is set deeper" etc. Sometimes it's just not worth the hassle for a bunch of knockers.

As a long time Makita user, it frustrates me to no end that they did not make the 40v batteries reverse compatible with 18v tools. I’m not an engineer but I’m sure it would’ve been easy to make the battery sense that it’s in a 18v tool and step down the voltage. That would’ve allowed every 18 v user to slowly buy 40v tools to work in conjunction. A 1/2 inch router would be a valuable addition to my kit, but now I’m stuck buying new 40v batteries and having two different sets unless I want to go back and replace every single tool, many of which I feel like 18v is plenty of power for the use: jig saw, oscillating tool, portable lights… they really f’cked us on this. Also none of the new XGT tools are available in Canada. This company I used to love is driving me insane.
@riba22334 ай бұрын
It would have been a huge compromise for the xgt line, they simply had to start fresh.

LOL, your beloved Makita vs Hikoki is a funny one. Review the latest high end Dewalt impact, then slowly work your way over to the better tools. Your channel will flourish. I own Makita and Dewalt, but I honestly feel like the Dewalt have a higher percentage of reliable tools. I have 2 boxes of clapped out tools in the garage, the Makita box is huge.
