The 7/32" pilot hole is for the plastic anchor you can screw the lagbolt into.

I've used one to mount an older 32" plasma TV, so it's about 50lb. It's held for the last 5 months and I'm happy with it.

I actually have two of these, just mounted to standard wood studs for 40" lcd TV's. More than adequate and super simple install. The side to side adjustment leaves a little to be desired but for the price having to finesse the level adjustment is well worth the price. I do agree I wouldn't max out the weight capacity though - you always want a buffer on capacity when mounting anything.

Correct, which is what I used when mounting the arm. That's why I pointed out that you have to get that arm as level as possible becuase there isn't a good adjustment for the TV.

does the top screw go into the stud or does the middle part go over the stud?

If you look at all the holes plate that goes into the wall you will see that it will swivel clockwise and counterclockwise a little bit but the plate that goes on the TV goes clockwise and counterclockwise a little not to mention it also goes left and right so for the money I think it's the best deal on the market

Pretty good for ten bucks. At the end, you complained about it not being precisely level when swiveled. Perhaps your wall is not perfectly straight.

With the good coupons they were $7.99 limit 4. Totally good deal. Got them to mount my 7.2 speakers in my recording studio. They're worth $10 all day long. They, however, are NOT worth the current price of $16.99 not by a damnsight. Check the suptek on amazon ($11.99) before buying at the current price.

I just bought this & the mount arm is stiff & doesn’t move. Should I loosen up the bolts or just return it?

I'd try adjusting the bolts, but that's because it's probably easier than returning it.

i’m new to this type of stuff lmao, so am i able to mount this into drywall? or do i need a specific anchor?
@ToolTeardowns4 жыл бұрын
You need to mount it directly into a stud in the wall. Drywall won't hold it.
@JamesMiller-th6rz4 жыл бұрын
Forgot to add, it does have a horizontal adjustment via the elongated hole on the bottom of the wall mount.

I picked this up a few weeks ago, and for $10 it is a great mount. My TV is like a 32 inch screen, so not huge. The only issues I had installing it were do to hitting a stud for one of the bolts, missing a stud for the top bolt -- but my house is old, and has had some additions so no telling what's behind the wall. So, any issue I ran into was from issues inside my wall, and a strong metal anchor fixed that issue.

I bought this TV mount after I had plopped $80-something on a Sanus mount from Target (but hadn't done any installation yet), just to compare/contrast and see if a cheap alternative could save me money. The Sanus is full-motion for 26"-47" with a beefier arm construction and only has a weight limit of 50lbs. So to think Harbor Freight can rate the Armstrong at 66lbs with how lightweight it is, is hilariously dubious.
@ToolTeardowns5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, there's no way I would put a 65 lb. TV on the HF mount.

We have both the $27 flat mount and the $50 full motion mount from Harbor Freight. The flat mount is currently supporting an old 50" Plasma in the bedroom and the full range mount is supporting a 75" LED in main room. I've only had one problem with each unit. On the flat mount with bigger TV, you have to use a screw driver bit on a super long ratchet extension to adjust tilt (pain in ass). On the full range mount, you cannot get the up and down tilt to be perfectly 90-degrees to the floor; it physically does not have the range to adjust. What I did was just take the swivel bracket off and flip it, which let me level it to my needs (only issue is now you need two helpers to hold while you adjust), because it can no longer "hang". Bought both with super coupons (one was $39 and the other was like $19). Overall very happy. Nuts feel cheap and on verge of stripping, but brackets themselves are very solid.

The wall mounting plate has a slotted hole for side to side leveling.
@ToolTeardowns5 жыл бұрын
Yes, that's how I leveled it. But the TV does not have much for adjustment once you get the arm mounted to the wall.
@patpp5 жыл бұрын
Everything is good except hard to put two bracket mounting screws, they can easily get stripped. Design should be changed to make it easier. If TV is small, it is better put those two screws first, then attach TV Plate to TV with some help.
