You kids don't understand, This was what watching Toonami was about. Dubs and hyping trailers narrated by some guy with a deep voice . This was for the kids born between 88 and 93 and they loved every second of it. You kid nowadays have your Adventure Time and your streaming sites and your... smartphones... Didn't have all that back in day! This is what was great!

Ever since sub anime became common to watch for the last few year. Sub fans have become so obsessed hearing japanese voices that they can't even watch anime in their own native language. I watch most of my anime sub too but you guys won't even try a dub anime because it's not japanese....
@BOOTxClan10 жыл бұрын
To be completely honest, I've watched a lot of subbed and dubbed anime, and this dub just doesn't fit the characters imo. I still watch dubs all the time, but going from dub to sub or vice versa is always a weird transition (especially from season to season)
@madnessisrelative91910 жыл бұрын
I go with whichever one has the more convincing voice actors. For some shows like Bleach (and I'm assuming Attack on Titan) the Japanese actors are more convincing, while in others like Soul Eater and Claymore the English cast sounds much better to me. It's purely a matter of taste
@Kivarise10 жыл бұрын
BOOTxClan I get what you mean. To me this sound decent compared to a lot of other dubs.
@Plateau9510 жыл бұрын
Its because after you watch a whole series subbed, you get used to those voices, you bond with those voices. Dubbed it just sounds weird and people don't really like it that way after being so entwined with the subbed version. I don't mind it too much. I've been watching A LOT of subbed anime this year through Crunchyroll but I still like dubs when they are done right. AoT seems like a good dub. It will feel weird the first few episodes but I'll love it no less.
@athest710 жыл бұрын
AkatsukiWolf So you're saying that everyone who watches anime outside of Japan has English as they're native language? Right. People like to watch anime in Japanese as it's the original language for it, and not many people are fond of the localization choices that are made when producing a dub.

I remember seeing this back in April of 2014. I remember back in the beginning of April of 2014 one of my classmates telling me about it and showing me a few clips. At first I wasn't interested. Then when I was watching a Top something of anime deaths I saw the clip of Eren's mother about to be eaten in the video but I stopped before I could finish. Then one day in April I saw this playing on Toonami and after watching it I was like maybe I should give this a try. Then after that I decided to finally watch it on Netflix. That first episode was amazing and really gets you in to this show. After that I was so into Attack on Titan I even told my brother and his friends to check it out. I swear Attack on Titan made my summer of 2014 awesome.

Mike Teich I don't think it's obvious... I'm a modern Anime fan and don't have a lot of knowledge about the history of Anime. I had no idea they were trying to replicate an old style, and I think that most people watching adult swim won't know that either.
@VoidBL10 жыл бұрын
***** most people do thats why it's adult swim not teen swim.... smh the majority of people who are watching toonami are toonami originals who watched when voltron, thundercats, dbz were new you new anime fans should learn to appreciate this because they're the only place to watch real dubbed anime thats not butchered like how 4kids butchered one piece all those years back or how nickelodeon butchered dbz... yes obviously the original Japanese ova is better but these dubs are good enough reason for me to re watch this anime until 2015 when season 2 comes out the majority of people do recognize and appreciate these trailers it's you new fans that expect every anime to be exactly alike and are the reason why toonami was shut down years ago expecting for all animes to be naruto clones...

This whole "subs vs. dubs" argument is one of the most stupidest arguments I've seen. The sub fans on here are constantly whining and complaining about the dub, and they're the being loud and obnoxious. But did you know that you don't have to watch it? Did you know that you could shut up and carry on with your life? Stop attacking other people because they have different opinions, it makes you look immature and condescending. I thought anime fans were mature and didn't whine like 6 year olds, but I guess that's changed in this day and age.
@MiXVoy2 жыл бұрын
That kind of argument can also be found on every Sentai VS Power Rangers video. From opening themes, casts (mostly from modeling, non-agency) morphing sequences, and writing, PR fans can't admit that the MMPR franchise is non-union in its entirety.

Everyone, shut the hell up about dubs vs subs. Like the dub or not, at least Toonami can finally air this on their network. This is their #1 requested show and they've been listening to their fans. Besides, some of the voice casting is actually pretty good. You may have already watched the sub, so you don't need to complain about the dub. Just let everyone now enjoy in having the option to watch both.

I remember seeing this around 8 ( I know it was seven:eight yet the series started when I would have been nine, which I KNOW wasn’t the case ) staying up late- around midnight or so - watching “the Cleveland Show” despite the boredom i felt. I always figured there had to be a show that always pushed what could be shown to the limit, I was vaguely aware anime existed, I think I was even vaguely aware of this before I saw the this teaser dropped ( though i think I also remembered it differently but what ever )- this alone, however, left me in as much awe as Eren was with that hand on the wall. This show felt as if it reached the limits, if not surpassing it, of what could be shown. I was disturbed but far more intrigued if anything. I’m not sure if I was ever going to see the actual show, though the feeling I had was that it would be an experience to say the least, like a subtle message from the future I was destined to experience it, because I just knew this was going to change media forever. These are the feelings I recall and while these weren’t my exact thoughts I do believe this is what my feelings translated to. The only thing is that I SWEAR I saw the trailer for this prior on television by at least a year or two. Maybe they dropped a subtitled version but I don’t know. Either way, despite it just being the trailer, it did change my view of media entirely.
