​@@lurkingknight because it's weird, yes. In japanese the title makes much more sense. Translators did the best they could, but it turned out to be a little bit weird, still. There're some things that are basically impossible to translate without losing a percent of its sense. Because of different culture etc. Most of the words have direct analog, yes, but in 1% situations there's subtle notes living between the words which are untranslatable. So that's perfectly valid claim that the title is weird or doesn't make sense. All I can say: don't bother. Title is title, don't think too much about it. I wonder when there will be Eren's home moment, which also sounds a little weird in translation.

@@jerrygreenest In the specific case of the title, the untranslated name of the show is meant to create the exact linguistic ambiguity in japanese they are coincidentally discussing here created by the chosen translation for english. The translation is correct as it can get for the intended effect. Had it been a literal translation, it is too specific and doesn't create the questions it was intended to do. A literal direct translation would've required the translator to pick a specific meaning, that in itself spoils things.

One of the greatest plot twists ever, its so slow and methodical. It just sounds like a regular conversation that everybody always has to think "did I read that right?". My favorite part is when you re-watch the series it's SO obvious once you know and pick up on all the little details it's such incredible foreshadowing and writing.

"when they were fighting in the tower was all that just for show? they could have died " if you rewatch it i think in the part when the tower is about to collapse you can see Berthold with his hand close to his mouth before Ymir jumped and told them to grab on. rewatching the series its even better , even when someone in the group asked "Why they don't finish their sentences" It was Mikasa not letting Sasha talk because she knew what she was about to say and they were given orders to pretend like nothing happened and they knew nothing Another thing about the girl getting eated saying stuff like sorry father i wont do it again and stuff like that , it's been told in wars when people are dying they call/start talking about 1 of the 3 sometimes , medic , god or their parents in their last moments.

Hello family!!!! I love following your reactions. Don't worry because I think that the vast majority of us were confused every chapter, throughout this series. LOL It is one of the stories with more twists and more lots of information that always arrive later, so that everything ends up fitting. For example, why was Reiner able to escape so easily in season 1 from the hands of the female titan...? Well now we know. Because they were allies. Who would have told us? That Reiner was part of Annie's group and that he was also one of the titans who started the story... This plot twist was one of the most brutal for those of us who were watching the series week after week, at the time. The soundtrack envelops all the drama of the scene and raises it to a very good level. Greetings from Barcelona!

Strangely enough, Sasha being aware that Annie liked sweets is actually a really good insight - maybe not on par with Armin's awareness of how Reiner communicated Eren's position by cutting her hand, but still a huge clue that something was off. We and the scouts all dismiss it because it sounds silly, but think about it. Really, really think about it. Humanity barely has enough food to keep their civilians living a subsistence lifestyle. The military, who have to feed people so that they can develop and maintain the strength needed to use ODM gear, don't even have enough food to be feeding their rank and file meat. The only person we've seen so far with anything that might've been sweet is the jackass Lord who Pyxis was throwing his chess matches against. ...so how exactly did Annie even get her hands on sweets?

The reason why einar said that so casually was because he was going through psychological trauma, he couldn’t keep up the lie anymore. He infiltrated his enemies and lived with them, ate with them, slept with them, fought with them for YEARS, since he was a kid. He was having internal conflict with himself and couldn’t keep up the lie, he got so caught up in “saving humanity from the titans” he didn’t know which side was just anymore, It’s a common thing that happens to spies irl

15:19 Correct. Reiner and Bertholdt didn't transfom at the castle because they would've blown their cover before getting Eren. It's debatable if Reiner would've died if he jumped with that titan. But if he did let the titans kill him without transforming, Bertholdt's cover would've been intact so their mission to take Eern could still succeed. The reason Ymir transformed is because she's not actually with them. She doesn't share their mission. I won't elaborate further as we're entering spoiler territory if I do. The show will explain.

This episode is the same scenario as the Annie one, but even more subtly hidden... The Scouts know who the Titans in hiding are, atleast suspected to be. The hidden layer of this episode is, all the scout members are acting sus & wary... prior to the casual reveal... the casual reveal itself is a bomb.
