Double agreed. They were my childhood, and I would never knew anything about anime if I never seen the block’s existence. Next to cartoons and video games. Even before it's existence, anime was sparsely to occasionally syndicated on local stations weekday afternoons, saturday (and sunday) mornings in the 80s and the 90s, along with the other programs in the lineup.

@@earlyriser03 the worst part is the focus of aftermath is a little bit before my time. Alot of it is great but there's like none of my favorite 2007 content or anything. I wish someone would expand on the concept and do more like that. And I'm sure copyright issues probably make it a nightmare for the people running it. But I've gotten super into that stuff people have edited together full blocks of cartoon network on KZbin and I even went as far as trying to make some myself but it was a lot more work than it was worth. Plus I would have to heavily edit them down if I wanna actually upload them anywhere. It just needs to be easier for people to go back and experience not just these shows but the full experience of the channel at the time. Alot of the fun is seeing the promos for upcoming episodes and letting anticipation build for things and nothing in modern times really does that effectively for me. I can binge Naruto all day long but nothing compares to that old feeling you get where it's on at a specific time and you are seeing promos for it all day.

@@wrathoftheflyingspaghettim850 that’s fair. I grew up with 90s and early Y2K era Toonami, as well as weekday/Saturday morning cartoons, so Aftermath is a constant nostalgia trip. I’ve seen the fan made blocks on KZbin, many of which cater to my era. Hopefully, you get a better selection in the coming months/years!

The biggest thing holding it back from the level it was at is containing it to Friday and Saturday. Best way Toonami goodness made an impact? Being nearly everyday. And even Adult Swim in general, when it had anime reruns on weekdays. Inuyasha, Blood Plus, Evangelion, Cowboy Bebop,,Witch Hunter Robin, Wolf’s Rain, it goes on and on. Family Guy, Futurama, King of the Hill, and Anime. Holding it down.

I am really happy to see Sailor Moon return on tv on the CN channel after two decades. I am happily on board of them showing the viz media dub. My sister was kind enough to let me watch stuff on her Hulu account from two years ago, and I have been binge watching the entire show with the exception of the recap episode. Yeah, I could still watch the anime again on Hulu at any time I want, but watching it on TV after it was removed from Cartoon Network decades ago is a different type of feeling before streaming was a concept. It is exactly with Checkered Past that I get to rewatch Ed, Edd, n Eddy, Courage, and Samurai Jack without needing a HBO max subscription. This will also give me a reason to watch Dragon Ball Z Kai.
