I met Mika Hakkinen, back when he won the Formula 3 championship in 1990. One of his sponsors was Nesté Chemicals (not a typo, it's definitely not the confectioner Nestlé) and they'd arranged an event at Oulton Park, where a select few people got to meet their star driver. He was a smashing bloke, quietly spoken, but a damn good driver. I got to meet JJ Lehto the year before at a similar event. Ah, the joys of the perk...
