CP was a social game over toontowns more action-like design. Both games did start out as social games but CP had an easier time to get into since there wasn't much needed to learn at the time and kids could chat to friends over it; which is probably why it was popular. Despite this, CP has gone downhill and the most recent "cashgrab" version has turned people away due to limiting what you can do with friends; ruining the whole point of why people played it. *Simple answer* : it was easier to get into and more simple to just chat. Toontown had more strategy, despite this I think toontown was better.

I've played both, but Club Penguin is actually for kids and has much less to offer in terms of content than Toontown. Toontown gives you a magical feeling in your heart, and is one that I seriously cannot ever leave, so do many other adults. It is addicting and you'll never want it to end, in a good way. jonathan rood If TTR dies, then it dies. They died because they were doing nothing with the game. And honestly if they do die, I wouldn't be that surprised in the end. TTR isn't even that much of a feat. Polishing a game is one thing but to create and make new things for a game is something both TTO and TTR failed to do. I don't think of something like that as trouble. It's what games are SUPPOSED to do. If TTR dies, it's because they did the same things as Disney. They both stopped working on the game.

This video popped up on my homepage. I played original TT when I was a kid, and now I still play Rewritten. ^_^ the only thing that stops me from playing is the fact that it's impossible to do a lot of things by yourself, like factories and higher level cog stuff, and it's really difficult to find enough people to participate with you. There always seems to be people in Cashbot HQ for some reason, but the other HQs are usually super empty. So it bums me out to not be able to do the other factories. It's also annoying when you finally get to do a factory, and everyone you're with expects you to know exactly how it all works and gets mad at you when you don't know it all. Lol it's like dudes, chill, I've never been here before. I'd rather just be able to do everything by myself, so I can take my time and enjoy the game without people rushing me and getting annoyed whenever I linger at any given moment.

I will start with the beginning, this might end up being a little on the long side, I apologize, but with that first google search that you uncovered, since I downloaded the game in 2003, I got that clip with Scrooge activating the giant robot that created the cogs so I always knew the origin BUT I didn't exactly get why they existed. I watched Ducktales when I was real little & Gyro Gearloose was one of my favorite characters, I mean yeah, I knew that his robots turning evil was a thing, he's the reason why I had a problem trusting new technology growing up (I had a flip phone for eight years because I was afraid of smart phones) but making a robot that makes a bunch of evil robots didn't make sense to me. I had a theory that he had tested the robot & right away it didn't follow commands so he shut it down & put that sign onto it & when Scrooge activated it, it decided to follow what it would think Scrooge would want in a way? I was 11 when I first saw the clip & over time I noticed that the cogs did exhibit traits that made me think of Scrooge so I figured it had to do with the fact that he activated them. I'm face palming right now, of course it was meant to make cheap, easy labor for Scrooge but of course the cogs were evil, this makes far too much sense. Going onto best gag, come on, musical instruments did become a funny running gag (whoa, that wasn't intended but I'm laughing at my own unexpected joke), but come on, we all know you were thinking sound. It was like you wanted to avoid touching on the fact that sound late game was pretty much what EVERYONE used. I bring this up because going onto something else mentioned in the video on not being able to get one of the tracks, I of course did not know this & was pushing to pick sound later back each time. I was going to pick it when I got to MML but trap was an option & I had never seen it used before so I picked that instead. My first toon ended up soundless. She was a tall yellow rabbit named Salty, I would sometimes refer to her as Soundless Salty. It was a choice I massively regretted for the longest time but as I got older & played more & more on different toons that had different gag sets & so on, I learned to appreciate Salty & the playstyle I gained from starting on her. I don't know if people notice their styles but I feel fortunate to know mine, I just naturally knew what would be enough to kill what cogs without adding it up because I had to know for aiming for a cog when everyone used sound. Same goes for knowing how much damage the cogs could potentially deal so I'd know if I should prioritize using toonup over something else like if there were going to be two cogs left standing after three people used trunk so I could only take one out, if someone was low enough on laff, I'd know if healing them should come instead of taking down one of the two & so on. Not something I can quite explain because it was just sort of something that was active when playing but trying to talk about it is hard like that one song you know all the words to if it's playing but if you're not listening to it, you just know a lot of it but not entirely. I usually was that person who told people what to do in battles because I started off with such a hindrance. It's sort of muted down over the years after having the luxury of playing toons with sound but in dire situations, I can usually get us out of much easier. This whole thing brought a major smile to my face, I'm going to help make you feel old but I'm 26 years old & this game was a huge part of my childhood. Hearing you say these things about the game brought me back to when I played all the time after school or those late summer nights when I'd be up trying to get my tasks finished, & so on. You mentioned something about fans growing up & having money for the game, I was so dedicated to this game that I threw everything I had at it in high school. I was getting $20 a month allowance at home & at school I took a class called work experience which was mainly just doing janitorial work, that got me $20 a month as well. Pretty much all of my money went towards Toontown, I had four member accounts. Two of which my parents paid for because one was mine & the other one was my sister's but when my sister wanted to quit playing, I started paying her off for her account so I could have another one. So yeah, I guess my parents could of just been paying for one & I could have given the money to them but I didn't think that through at the time. I did a ton of multi-tooning back then & I did it fairly, I had a desktop computer & two laptops where I'd run at most, three toons at a time. I'd never be able to juggle a fourth plus I liked leaving some room in case any loners needed a group to tag along with. I had two higher toons on my main account that I raised without multi-tooning, I used those to raise the others on my other accounts so I had a lot of high leveled toons, seemed fair to use them to help others. So you really think the game will return one day? I must ask, do you believe that was foreshadowed in the new Ducktales series? Gyro had already created the cogs in that show, it was an Easter egg in the Great Dime Chase. Highly recommend Toontown fans to at least see that episode of Ducktales & pay attention to Gyro's notepad when he pulls it out. I kind of hope for a episode of the show that would relate to Toontown but at the same time, the Disney Afternoon shows have been brought up so much in that series that they might just leave it at that one tiny thing which definitely has me worried since Toontown does exist in that universe, whether it's more like the Toontown in Bonkers or the game is a mystery but it does exist & there's a possibility that evil corporate robots are taking it over & the rest of the world is ignoring the problem. I feel like bringing the game back or doing kind of a reboot of it might be the best way to handle the whole Ducktales thing but at the same time, we have Rewritten which I'd much rather have over a Disney official Toontown reboot & reason why I say this is because Rewritten is free. I can play Toontown & have that feel of nostalgia for free through Rewritten. If I want something that's very much like a reboot, where there's major changes & so on to the game, I have Corporate Clash for it so there's no need for Disney to reboot Toontown besides the money. Now, in bringing back the old Toontown, I'm all for it. I want to play on my old toons again. Salty, I made her February 15th, 2004 & I can remember this because of my history with the game. It goes back to a friend of mine that I had in school but I switched schools for the school year of 2001/2002 so I didn't get to see her at all until summer 2003 when I went to her house almost all the time. She introduced me to Toontown there & eventually, I downloaded the game & did the free, three day trial where I made my first toon ever, Salty Featherflap. Yeah, this lead to me begging my parents for a membership & I didn't get one until Valentines Day 2004 where I was presented with a Toontown news letter & told that I have an account. I got into it on the 15th, remade Salty as just Salty & I've been attached to that toon ever since because she meant so much to me. Reminded me of the bond I had with my good friend, whenever I got home from school, I'd play Toontown so she was the first thing I saw after a hard day, & just spent so much of my childhood with her. Well, sort of childhood, I was 12 when I made her so mostly teenhood & into my early adult years. That toon meant so much to me, sure I had better toons that were easier to play in the game because they had sound or I knew what I was doing when I played them so they all together turned out well but there's something special about your first. That, that is the only thing that would have me supporting them bringing the game back, I'd fork over the $10 a month to play on that account again for sure. When Toontown Rewritten started up, I did make Salty the Third because she was technically the third remake of the Salty line although I only had the first for three days so sometimes I question even including her. Anyways, I decided to go down the exact same training path that I did with Salty to relive that & as nice as that was since it brought me back in time, I dropped off playing her pretty fast. I guess part of it is due to working in the Brrrgh & I have a strong distaste for Lil Oldman. She's just kinda been there but I had no motivation to play her. I did raise a croc up to 106 laff points for the laff olympics because I can get it done fast, I just need a motivator, a prize did it for me. I guess I just want my Salty back & knowing the one I've been playing on isn't her just kinda kills it. I will attend Toonfest on Salty the Third so if you see me, please say hi. I doubt you read this far into this massive, messy, unedited, first draft of a comment (I could clean it up if it wasn't like midnight) but if you did, thank you so much for surviving it. That means the world to me, as a long time Toontown fan & sharing some memories I have with the game & all that & to have you read it, just wow. Again, thank you & hope to see you around.

BubblegumDragonite can you write my essays
@bubblegumdragonite94256 жыл бұрын
Ha, I enjoyed writing essays in school, never got why people don't. I actually work with kids today at a after school center & there's been so many where I was helping them out with their essays & I'm just thinking "gosh, I wish I could just write the whole thing for this kid because they have a fun topic." I had to write an essay for my final in career ed, I completed it in under an hour & got to read for the rest of the class when some people struggled to get theirs done. I aced it & passed the class which is odd because that's the class where I pretty much didn't do any of the work for & usually spent that period watching Happy Tree Friends in the corner on this one guy's ipod, he had a bunch of episodes downloaded, that was in 2008. I guess what I want to say, I wish I could write your essays for you but you got to do them yourself, sorry. If I didn't have a conscious, I'd probably charge kids money & write their essays for them but sadly, I could never bring myself to do that. Plus, it doesn't matter how many drafts I do, you're going to find errors, I swear every successful essay I ever wrote was a fluke, I am bad at catching my own mistakes even if it seems I've gone over it about a million times. A friend of mine still edits these Toontown fanfics I wrote like ten years ago.

I remember Disney saying that they would keep everyone's data, so I always thought that someday it would come back. Still waiting...

I was hoping they would answer the quesion about the cloud more seriously, explaining what the initial ideas the team had for it. But they kinda just skipped over it. Edit: Or a lot of the questions they kinda skipped over, I'm a game dev myself and it's always interesting seeing into the minds of more experienced developers and how they think.

Seriously… like how it was funny farms and black and white. I don’t understand why they couldn’t take the 30 seconds it would have took them
