Toontown Texture Packs

Today I go over Texture Packs that were made by people in the community. We're taking a look at some new ones and old ones throughout the games life span. We even take a look at some other things as well in the video.

So the reason why model loading was patched is because people would load a "mod" which for example, makes racing tracks very short so you immediately win, or makes boss hitboxes really large so you throw pies/etc anywhere and hit anyway etc.

Dude major props to you for being one of the last bastions of high-quality toontown content on youtube. I made content way back in the 2013-2015 era and even had the pleasure of interacting with people like quackity (when he had about 300 subs) and smirky. I hope once I finish up college and get settled to get back into youtube and make videos similar to yours. Basically, keep it up is what I'm saying.

I'm glad you liked Clashbot HQ! As you mentioned, most of this pack was made with the idea of keeping true to the Clash cog HQ style from what they've released so far. While I'm sure the official music will sound very different (especially after listening to the Cashbot building music), I hope people will enjoy my original music.

Flippo's pack is SO GOOD. I love that one. I will continue to use it for how good the textures are. My friend bart uses it too. Great video 👍

Wonderful video on the history of Content Packs! This is such an awesome video! Thank you for this❤ Also, all HD texture packs are typically hand drawn! Apologizes about Santa tho, that one was made when I was a kid 😆. I dropped the terrible name, and it has evolved into pack Toontown After Dark!

Yes, I really liked After Dark V2. I liked how horrific it was and I distinctly remember the pet shop displays. I'd be really happy if we could access older versions of content packs on your website.

I only saw this recently, but I did not expect my content pack to be on here! I'm very thankful that you showed it off even though it's sort of difficult to find, the newer versions of the cogs along with removing a lot of the blurry textures are my main goals for the next iteration of the pack. Even though I didn't know about this until now, thanks a ton for showcasing so much of what the content pack community has accomplished for this game that means so much to all of us, you're doing great work highlighting some of these amazing packs!

That Waifu2x is a great tool that you just made me aware of! The name reminds me of a program that I used for my thesis project called WindNinja. It was made to help with monitoring wind patterns in California by a department in the California state government. Programs do love making weird jokes with their creations kinda like how in The Series of Unfortunate Events that a newly discovered snake species was called "the incredibly deadly viper", even though it is actually extremely friendly and gentle towards humans. That's the entire joke.

Toonland feels like it shouldn't have been a real thing. If someone told me that an MMO got modded so that you could visit an area that the base game never had, while on an online, official server, I'd call them a liar to their face. Someone DID that, though. You could walk through a blocked tunnel with no exit and run down two streets that didn't exist to visit a town that the people who made and ran the game knew nothing about, and the server just accepted it. It says a lot about how much online architecture has changed.

Fun fact: Toontown, at least the original, ran on Panda3D, which is a game engine running on C++ with Python more or less acting as a scripting language.

Me when Anthony mentions you can't do mods unless you have an open-source version of the game, but fails to mention Offline can do mods because of its TTO base. Joking aside, great video! (Hopefully there are other Toontown topics you can cover in the future... :O )

disable resampling on your video sources in your editor. tried to take a screencap of that santa pack inside the HQ and there wasn't a single frame that didn't blend two frames together.

I think Jerky's pack is waaay better than Flippo's, purely for the fact it's more accurate to what HD Toontown would look like, and also because of 19:48, which DOES take you out of the experience, at least for me. Also, Flippo identifies as she now! :)
