We had an 855, it was a damn good baler for the most part. I liked that they used truck air bags to set the tension, it sure beat the hell out of tightening those damn springs like the Vermeer we had. Only downfall is when it decided to shit one of the pipes on the chain you had a mess really fast!

We got belts from a place in Nevada, all they do is belting.. was reasonable! It's been so long ago, I have no idea what the company is. We changed chains every other season and sprockets every other set of chains.. if you can get it, get the Heavy chain, not standard. Pretty similar to my 847. They don't like to start a bale if its hot and dry on a skimpy swath and mine shines like a mirror inside. I've bent and broke several of those cross bars and never figured out how it does that.
@straightpipeacres63653 жыл бұрын
Ya I'm not sure how that works either I've never broke a single one. Maybe it was that your swath was too narrow?
@GosselinFarmsEdGosselin3 жыл бұрын
I hated the round baler in dry Stuff!! We did a lot of custom grass straw, all night work, hoping for moisture, even then, starting the bale was half of the work! Sometimes it might take ten tries and dig it out a few times..
@roosty63 жыл бұрын
@@GosselinFarmsEdGosselin Seems like as long as I feed in a good big swath at a good speed it is fine. Trouble starts when I'm running around trying to pick up little bits of left over hay and its not feeding fast enough to keep the floor chain fed.
@GosselinFarmsEdGosselin3 жыл бұрын
@@roosty6 ya... How is it with a half bale in it?? Will it still pickup the bits and pieces??
@roosty63 жыл бұрын
@@GosselinFarmsEdGosselin It can still be a problem even with a bale started. Chewed up hay material builds up in front of the floor chains if there is not a good swath coming in to keep it clear. A little moisture makes a world of difference.

@straightpipeacres63656 ай бұрын
The size indicator is on the front right side of the baler and you shouldn't have to touch anything to tie the bale. When the baler is full it Will do it all automatically. You can have a string to make the baler tie earlier if you want
