Of course the action comes in the latter half. I had never thought about just rolling the net backwards by hand. Really not too bad. Now I need to find a good knife sharpener for the baler.

I saw the title, read it as, "The Return of Nick," and wasn't disappointed! At least it was a normal malfunction, and you figured out the easy way to unroll the netwrap. It's not so easy on the Deere.

In my opinion, learning the hard way was lying on my back and trying to pull the crap plug out by hand on a 95 degree day in switch grass stubble. Definitely decided that going into the windrow slow and easy until the bale core was formed was a prudent thing to do.

NEVER use razor blades on them rollers no matter what color it is! They leave fine little bers on the rollers (steel and rubber) and them little bers will catch the net wrap and back wrap it. Use a scissors to cut the net wrap!! And yes baby power body power does work on the rollers, help with the static and the net will slide threw the rollers better!!

got a krone chain baler sitting in the barn right now with net wrapped around the rollers. I'm gonna try your method to unwrap it. Sure looks a lot easier than trying to cut all that stuff off the rollers! What a pain!
@boehmfarm42762 жыл бұрын
This is for the net system. If the bale forming rolls are wrapped, it won't work unless they turn freely.
@daviddidur45212 жыл бұрын
@@boehmfarm4276 It was the net wrap system. I just went out and rolled the net wrap roll backwards and it all came off the net wrap rollers. And to think previously I was hanging upside down over the intake trying to cut that net wrap off of the net wrap rollers with a carpet knife! Not good for the rollers I'm sure and brutal cutting your hands on all those sharp metal projections that round balers have. Thanks man!!!! I don't know why I didn't think of this myself.

Well I found out yesterday that my knife is completely worn out and you can't buy a new one from new holland. It's possible to sharpen it. But somehow I figured out yesterday that if I put the tractor to a very slow Idle before I engage the wrap it doesn't mess up and wrap the rollers. I did 25 bales yesterday after I started doing the slow idle thing with no issues. The dealer told me to put more tension on the Bundle of wrap and check the rollers for burs. I also believe it is necessary to keep the knife very sharp. I only messed up one bale because instead of cutting the net it rips the net and the first turn on the bale looks like a ripped stocking and I panicked thinking that part of the roll wrapped on the feed roller. I stopped and ejected the bale without having enough wrap on it. To sum it up I think proper tension and a good knife will fix the issue. The baler is new to me and I have only used it two days. Thanks for Taking the time to make helpful videos, if I find aftermarket parts I will share the info.

I imagine it's sharpenable. Probably could use a handheld knife sharpener on it.

I enjoy your videos making hay. Quick question about the net wrap on your 848. I have an opportunity to buy an 848 but it's a twine tie. Can I add that option now or does it have to come that way when purchased new?
@boehmfarm4276 Жыл бұрын
I don't know if new parts are available to change it over. I haven't looked at availability for net parts in yards, might be hard to find. It's either net or twine. Can't do both.

Best threat to any operator is make them pay for any repair parts and also the labor to fix what they break...
@ronniesorter18882 жыл бұрын
I agree in theory, but any operator worth a damn wouldn't take that deal. Mainly because most people who threaten that are cheap and cut corners on maintenance and then want to blame the operator if anything happens.
