I've been a musician for 39 years, and I've been almost exclusively playing the drums for the last 23 of those years. Just a couple comments. First, you are an incredibly talented, extremely well practiced drummer. You play the drums like you're breathing, it's that natural and organic. You're also a human metronome, dude. Your timing is rock solid, flawless even, and your use of dynamics gives the way you play a ton of impact and palpable passion. Second, your drums sound so, so good! You always have a killer, beautiful snare tone that's fat, bright and punchy all at the same time. The rest of your kit is icing on the cake, man! Hearing you play that beautiful kit makes them sound as good as they can. Thank you for making and sharing these videos with us. They're so inviting that I get knocked off guard when you start playing as beautifully as you do. Keep it up!
@mattroiddread3 жыл бұрын
That kit sounds great, hell of an advertisement for Varus. That snare especially, goddamn
@hazardeur3 жыл бұрын
it's likely less the snare and more the really good production, a room with great accoustics and some good mics with a very well tuned snare and fresh skins. and of course great playing! not saying the snare is bad but you don't need a very good snare for achieving a great sound with all these prerequisites
@mattroiddread3 жыл бұрын

I feel the same! Like, most AAL drum covers try to replicate the Gartska part hit for hit, which is in itself extremely impressive and commendable, but what he's done here is something special. His personal style still manages to shine through, even in a song this dense. It's pretty amazing
