What if the molar has a humongous all encompassing silver filling that's 20 years old and a corner of the molar broke off? The silver filling is almost the entire tooth, it seems anyway. But there's no pain, no sensitivity. What to do? Leave it? Did get a temp filling over just that corner though.

That’s very hard to answer without seeing the tooth clinically but typically if it’s a large silver filling and part of the tooth broke off then you might have to consider getting a full or partial coverage crown. Best of luck!

Can 14 year old teen can get partial denture for front tooth

Sometimes dentists will make a flipper or interim partial denture for younger patients if they are missing a tooth or broke a tooth early in their life. This is typically meant to maintain a space till they develop skeletally in which place you can do a more permanent solution like an implant
