This is exactly what I was looking for. I love simplicity. So many videos were suggesting to get clamps for this, pins for that, a board for whatever, etc. I just knew I didn't need all of that and finally found your excellent, no muss, no fuss method. Thank you so much for your excellent video with the step-by-step instructions. Simplicity still survives and your end result is just gorgeous.

thank you for showing me how to do this, I have made a slight change in materials though. I have been using Plarn instead of rags... and it makes a sturdy mat, I am making cushions for my hard wooden chairs. I will be covering them in material and making velcro ties to hold them in place. It does take over 100 plastic bags however to make a decent seat cushion, I don't make "strips" out of the pieces , but instead make one loop with each bag, and chain them together as I go... works really well for me.

Am trying to decide on how many stitches for my initial chain and number of rows and wonder, will there be shrinkage of the final product upon washing and machine drying? Will be using well worn cotton sheet strips. I made a practice rug from my old well-worn gaberdine slacks and was shocked to find it shrunk upon washing! I so enjoyed making it as your instructions were perfect. Thanks!

Love this and thank you so much. One question 🤔 why do they call it "toothbrush" rug?
@alanwhitehead97563 жыл бұрын
Hi Kendra, It was because the old toothbrushes were made of wood with a hole in the end. They would cut off the bristles and sharpen the end and use it as a needle to make the rugs. Thanks Sharon.

is it called a toothbrush because the needle you use is a toothbrush handle?
