This reminds me of the summer nights I would spend at my grandparents house. Life was good when I was given a bath, given clean jammies, tucked under warm covers and told a bedtime story holing my favorite stuffed animal. All without a care in the world. This reminds me of my childhood when I would be awoken in the middle of the night by the train whistle but I didn’t mind. It was such a comforting sound and I felt safe and snug under the covers. Thank you for this bit of nostalgia.

I can't tell you how wonderful this is. During winter I would throw all the covers off me in my bed when I heard distant train sounds, then when I was shivering too much, I would just throw them back on and have the best rest ever!!

I thought I was a but strange for loving train sounds like this so much more when it's cold! I have my window open just a bit and it's in the 40s and lower at night! I used to live in a direct line into Manhattan and miss the trains so much! They're so comforting and relaxing!

@@alexisavenged6538 I used to live in a city in Germany, and my apartment was just two city blocks over from the main railyard. I remember sleeping with my windows open at night, year round, and listening to the sounds of the trains and the railyard. I loved it. It reminded me of the first time I spent the night on a boat, in a harbor. The sounds emitting from the buoys or whatever it was that would chirp, I love that too.

This reminds me so much of home. The 2000’s were nice to grow up in. I just wish I had appreciated it more when I was a kid, instead of wishing to be an adult. I’m just glad that I can still hear the crickets at night when I’m home.

I live in a geographically remote area in Northern California, and distant train sounds were a normal part of my childhood. The trains stopped running here in the 1980s, so this video brings back that comforting sound of my childhood. Once again, tucked into bed, with family (all now passed on) safely sleeping all around me. ♥️

I’m a long haul trucker. I listen to this to help sleep. I used a blue tooth speaker and it sounded like everything, train and bugs, were in the bunk with me.😅. But I slept good

this reminds me of my aunts house growing up she lived right in the city, next to the train tracks me and my cousin would have sleepovers where I would sleep on the floor of his tiny little bedroom and he would open the window and we would listen to the sounds of the night, her house was like a sanctuary for me to get away from the hoarder house I grew up in. and when we got a little older like tween/young teenager we would go on walks around the train tracks and down the street in the summer around dusk and sometimes we would run to the corner store, once we did see someone selling pot. never went down that side street again lol.

I just live in a town that has train tracks nearby, so i can hear trains passing and using their horns. Ive lived here for about 10 years, which is actually shocking - but i only remember the trains more recently within the past 5 years. Its extremely nostalgic for me remembering 2020-2021 summers, playing animal crossing new leaf all night when my sister gave me her 3ds, hyperfixating on ninja turtles while the AC was broken, sitting on the front porch to watch the lightning and storms come in, it was all so fun.

I can't explain how much I love this. I grew up in Southern Missouri, and we didn't live far from the train tracks. I loved having my windows open or to be sitting outside with my momma whils listening to the trains go by. Or my favorite, were the midnight trains that went by and I would lay awake listening to the train until it was gone. My summer and spring nights sounded just like this and finding this video made me miss home 🏡 I live in California now and this gives me a little bit of home to listen to when I need it most.❤

This night train whistles more than 3 times! It always seems to me that it will happen! I'm in this train on the tracks, I hear the choir of cicadas, grasshoppers, crickets, the caress of the wind touches me. Sumptuous shades of midnight blue, deep green! Optimal sound quality. Perfect marriage between the resonance of the life of the train which traces its route and the song of the small beasts of the fields, I even feel some air of the atmosphere! The train sound reminds me of when I was a kid..we lived a couple blocks from the station and while our neighbors and my family found it disruptive, it soothed me to sleep with a sense of security ..still..to this day 😀

Thanks so much for putting this together, I don’t know what it is about train horns and track sounds that make them so comforting but they are! Maybe fond memories visiting my great grandmother who had railroad tracks in Manteca, Ca … or my great Uncle who had train tracks in San Pedro Ca. or my Grandfather’s hometown of Canon City and Brookside Colorado. My grandparents lived by a railroad. When I’d stay with them I’d sleep on the top bunk on the bunk bed of the kids room and listen to the trains go by. I knew that if three went by i had stayed up past my bedtime and needed to sleep. My grandparents town was lost to forest fires a few years back and I will forever cherish the memories I had from my childhood there.

I’m 16 years old and I got my license about a week ago (after a few attempts 😭) and the realization of me aging is scary. A video like this really helps me think about the past and how far I’ve come as a young man. I know I’m only a kid but growing older in a world like this is scary, how can I, later in life, bring children into a society like this? Anyways. i live in ohio and growing up my grandparents had a trailer house right next to the lake. it also wasn’t far from the railroad tracks. at night, after spending the evening swimming in lake erie, watching movies, and eating pizza, i’d hear a train drive by on the tracks, along with the crickets chirping and waves crashing on the lake’s shore. i really do miss it.

Reminds me of when I spent the night at my grandmas. I would be in the living room watching tv and hearing the train. Id sleep next to her on her bed as the train was making its noises. I miss it, I miss my grandma. I don't have much memories of her since she passed when I was still very young. This sound is one of the few memories I have. Miss you grandma and love you very mucb 💕
