oh my god! that reminds me a lot my childhood! with my dad drivin' and listening to this tape, over and over... so glad he presented me and my brothers all that good music one day, i certainly will present that to my sons

Sounds to me to be 'mechanical spring reverb' and that's better than any electronic reverb will ever be! Thanks for the post. I have a vynil copy of this album and it was nice to be able to hear it w/ out having to open it.

NHOP was the absolute master of swing on the upright ! I will never forget the version of Anthropology they did during this concert.

@Fretlessness Hey just a follow up as now that I got into listening to this song, sure enough, I was right ,as the sound you hear that sounds kind of like distant thunder is in fact the 'spring' from the reverb unit hitting the outside housing. You hear it just a short time before the guitar solo and during. There is no mistaking the true sound of this natural reverb sound.

Yeah I got all that, I just meant I wonder why he was messing with his amp so much during a solo and why they used that performance for the album.

Joe was so excited during the solo that he was accidentally hitting his amp also Joe and NHOP were unplanned guests during Toots' set
